Nice app. Shame it sha* itself in the first 2 minutes. But seems mostly pretty good. Definitely better than some of the paid apps which have come before it. Much smoother.

Has anyone played any of the flash based games and got them to work? Did they work well or did it seem like it was somehow being emulated

i've managed to load the app fine, but I can't send any message replies, wall posts, or chat messages. If I hit the return (send) key, it just goes to the next line. Either my app is behaving strangely, or this is an odd oversight!

Pretty sure on the iPhone app that hitting 'return' actually inserts the newline character. You have to hit 'post'.
Unlike the desktop site, 'send' and 'return' are not the same thing. Bloody inconsistent, I know.

Hi guys,
I am having severe problems with the new FB for iPad2 app.
It crashes when I start the app immediately.
A month or so ago I installed the "hidden facebook app" on my iPad2 and I removed it because it was blocked by FB.
Now I have read several blogs and websites stating how to install this app and fix it i.e. installing the app and removing it and reinstalling.
It doesn't work at all for me. There's no working around this for me it seems.
I have done this like a million times.
How do i fix this and how do I remove the hidden facebook app and make the new app wprk on my iPad 2. I am on the 4.3.4 JB.
Anyone knows how to fix this?

New Facebook app is NOT iOS 5 compatible.
Dock your keyboard to the bottom and it will appear.
Ah, got cha. Thanks for that. Seems a bit odd to release such a buggy app that's iOS 4 compatible, just days before iOS 5 is released

The new app works great, and installed without any glitches on my VZW iPhone 4 with iOS 5. Glad they finally released it, to bad the designer had to quit before the released it though.

He probably sabotaged it, or ran away before launch because he knew how half-assed it would be.
Crashing phones, crashing apps, incompatibilities with iOS5, apps that don't properly link to the app that's on the device, unable to share posts, unable to 'like' comments, etc etc.
I know - I never download iPhone apps for my iPad so if it wasn't for news sites like this I would have ignored it. Maybe Apple needs to have a universal category. When I did a search for Facebook for just the iPad it doesn't come up - but it should really.
The Google + web app is only better if you change your default view from mobile to desktop. But this is the same issue that Facebook had. You can't upload anything from the web.
facebook for ipad works 100% perfect on my ipad 1 running ios 4.4.3!! I love it its much better than using the iphone version.. UI is 95% perfect some buttons could be bigger but its great
Those old Win Mo 5 and 6 devices probably wouldn't have had this problem, they had a real, accessible file system.
Oh how I would gouge my eyes out if I had to go back to those.

After updating my facebook app, it just kept getting stuck on the load screen so I did a hard reboot multiple times. After reading many of the post on here, I deleted the facebook app (with intent to reinstall) and then tried to do another hard reboot and now it seems to be stuck in the reboot cycle that you refer to. The apple comes up but then the screen goes black. What do I do?
Just found a bug with this. You can't use the a bluetooth keyboard with this app as when you try to send something on chat or comment on a status you can't using the enter key on the keyboard and the send button is not there.

Be careful with the update on iPhone
This was a nightmare to install on the iPhone. I updated from an older version of FB and it would not start up. As I restarted the phone it got hung on the apple startup screen. I had to reset the phone and lost a few days worth of photos. Other friends have had similar problems!
