Unfortunately that'll never happen because they are too high profile. On one hand I can't fault apple for not screwing themselves by punishing Facebook, but on the other hand it still pisses me off.that's grounds for removal of Facebook from the app store.
It's not like this was there from the first version or that the app has been the same across all the versions.
Yeah look at the way Apple fixed Safari in just a couple of versions of IOS, it hasn't crashed for years. This should have been picked up and fixed within the first 10 versions, not 45.
Here it is! Money talks.Unfortunately that'll never happen because they are too high profile. On one hand I can't fault apple for not screwing themselves by punishing Facebook, but on the other hand it still pisses me off.
It's not necessarily malice. It shows an arrogance and a disrespect for their customers though. They decided that their business interests were more important than Apple's rules or their customers' battery life. That is not a good look and that is why they were more than happy to brush it under the rug by calling it a bugfix. I don't even blame them, I'd call it a bugfix too. Owning up to this would attract some serious egg on the face for no real reason.
On the flip side, it also looks bad for Apple that they either missed this or let it slide for awhile now. That's why Apple won't be commenting on this issue, they just want it to go away.
At this point I'm fine, they changed the app and hopefully it uses less battery, but let's not pretend that they didn't get caught with their hand in the cookie jar.
As strange as it sounds, the Messenger app is completely fine.Is this messenger app too? And My battery usage is not showing huge facebook numbers. Is that saying I am not affected?
I don't trust them either. Wish there was a better platform that is as widely adopted as facebook, while I don't necessarily like to post every little detail of my life, it is nice to keep in touch with some folks from distant parts of my life which I otherwise would not likely hear from.
This should have been picked up and fixed within the first 10 versions, not 45.

Have you ever turned it on, if you have, it's crashed, if you haven't, it might still have crashed.safari crashes? ive been using it for 5 years and i thnk it froze only once (apart from in youtube). i must be very very lucky then!
Depends on how you look at it. I read this as Facebook acknowledging the problem, and that they have identified and are working on further improvements. Don't just bold "should". Bold "should start"."The version released today has some improvements that should start making this better."

You haven't met Facebook.

Also, your snapchat usage doesn't seem so bad for 7 days; but 24 hours for Facebook is RIDICULOUS!
Google+ ?
I'm not saying Facebook isn't bad, it's terrible on mine sometimes too, but Snapchat seems to be the battery killer app for me! This is the 24hr usage. Surely it's not normal for background usage is it?

So with this background audio issue being fixed does this mean it fixes when you close then Facebook app and play music the audio won't be lower than normal anymore? It used to happen all the time when I had my phone connected to my car Bluetooth.
I use safari 10 hours a day (iOS and OS X combined) for the past 3 years, I don't know what crashing issue you are talking about because I certainly don't have itHave you ever turned it on, if you have, it's crashed, if you haven't, it might still have crashed.
