I'll be curious to hear what permissions this "Facebook Home" app asks for when you go to download it. My guess is it's going to ask to have access to everything. I'd be willing to bet that Facebook had to install many new severs in anticipation of all the data they're going to mine from the devices of Facebook Home users.

From Engadget

"Zuckerberg: Home is the 'next version of Facebook', not heading to iOS anytime soon"

Oh no, I feel sooo left out!

Yes - I checked out of facebook (after they automatically showed articles I read on 'partner' sides while logged into FB on another tab) and then check into reality (without FB) - and I love it.

They gave up this practice pretty fast - but I just don't trust them anymore (based on a variety of incidents while I was on there)

I see what you're saying but the flaw is that ultimately when this happened to me, I was logged into the site via Facebook and that's why it was occuring. ESPN and the Onion to be specific. *I* enabled social sharing on those sites, but it was still a shock to see them posted. But ultimately, it was my login on those sites that enabled it.

If it doesn't require root (it won't) it won't raise any red flags.

The more I think about it - the more I'll probably "pass" on this anyway.

For one - as much crap as Google gets on here - the idea of giving FB any more personal data on me doesn't sit well.

Second- on my FB newsfeed now I hate that it uses an algorithm to determine which updates I see and don't. Just because I've looked at x, y and z's profile or commented on them today doesn't mean I don't want to ever see a, b or c's status updates (ever).

The algorithm - for me - sucks.

mine seemed to always switch back to Top Stories, basically quit using it

Additionally, Facebook is offering a program for carriers and device makers to bundle Facebook Home into devices from the factory. HTC and AT&T are the first companies to sign on, with the 'HTC First' coming out April 12 for $100.

For the love of Pete, NOOoooOoOOoOo!!!!! Yet another reason people will root and custom ROM their android phones. I would risk voiding the warranty just to be rid of this abomination.

Nope - it was a 'shared' cookie - there were back than even reports that this happened on occasion for people that had logged out of FB (but I can't confirm that). I for sure did not login with FB to those pages - just happened to be logged into FB in a different tab of the browser.

Glad I came here today for this fron page story of vital Apple news!

seems most of the "news" posted here now are just about Apple's competitors to let the fanbois come out and bash so-and-so product

...or just download and use another launcher

This makes no sense. Does anyone know what a launcher is? Does anyone know how Android actually works or is it just based on how you think it works?
