This is already expected that Apple will not dominate in China especially if the government decides what you can have and can't have. Besides iPhones is already expensive in first world countries their main target in China are basically the rich people.

this apple contradicting themselves, why apple is adding FB to mac os after removing FB from the share option feature, well i hope i get the option to remove it, because this is one app that i don’t like running in the background, even if i don’t have any FB account or don’t even run the app, but you don’t know what the app might be doing, spying or collection in the back ground, sorry FB but you builded this bad reputation and i personally don’t lime you or trust you, i’ll be blocking this app with little snitch or similar, tim talked about security and privacy but now they doing this, i wonder what has changed in the last few months, absolutely nothing, things didn’t got any better, things got worse but tim wants to includes this. useless app on mac os, this is proof that tim has lost it,he don’t even know what he wants or where he is going

I don't get it, you use Little Snitch which is more for advanced users but you don't seem to understand this is Facebook releasing an App which you yourself must download and install.

thank you for that, this why I hate reading news from my phone, my wife was also rushing me, so I guess I miss that part, I really love my monitor compared against phone screen , I really thought that the app was integrated on Mac OS, no wonder I found the whole thing very weird, thanks for letting me know

This is not something Apple is adding. Facebook is releasing this for the Mac. Apple has nothing to do with this.
yeah I just found out now that I'm home, now I know don't read Mac rumors using my iPhone while I'm waiting for my wife

This is an app developed and distributed by Facebook, not Apple. Apple is not installing this onto your Mac without your consent. You'd need to install it like any other app.
next time I will read Mac rumor after drinking 3 cups of coffee
:D

thanks

o_O

Where did you get the idea that Apple is doing this? This app has nothing to do with Apple, Facebook is the developer. There's no need to block it with little snitch because you would have to install it for it to be on your computer.
well as you already know I made a big mistake, I thought apple was integrating the app on Mac OS
sorry I didn't have much sleep last night and I was using my iPhone

face palm emoji for me lol

Apple is not doing anything. Facebook is releasing an application for macOS.

You have to install this, so you certainly can remove it. It will not run in the background unless you launch it.

If you do not trust them, do not download their app and install it. Totally your choice.

This is a third party app, that you would have to go and download. What does this have to do with Tim Cook?
lol please forgive me, now I know, this so embarrassing
:D

Maybe my reply was too harsh, was not my intention, if so sorry for that.
Don't think Apple will make that mistake twice (built into the OS), I rather they will remove Facebook Apps from iOS altogether since it's a @#$% virus.

no problem is ok, you didn't say nothing bad
you just pointed out the obvious, thanks to you, I was able to see my mistake
you don't need to apologies, I thank you for helping me
I made a fool of myself today, is really funny but it did happened

the only thing I can do now is laughs at my self because I made myself look like an idiot
lol

Unfortunately, Messenger is still the best way to communicate for people who use Android. I tried messaging my Android friends with SMS, but it's just not an option these days with all the photo and video sharing. Plus they don't always get SMS instantly. It's really nice knowing your message has at least been delivered, especially when in areas with spotty reception.
Telegram or Signal are far better options for iOS to Android mixed comms and groups.

That is if they’re willing to use them. My girlfriend is 100% Facebook messenger for most of her friends so that’s what we use. It’s annoying as all hell but I live with it. I don’t have Facebook the main app on my phone, but for a new app on my Mac this actually would be a good thing for me.

View attachment 834582 Mind you, I don't want anything to do with Messenger, but it's basically unavoidable. - It's the only way to coordinate things with my uni course mates essentially. Just because it's a platform everybody is on. You can talk to some over Discord, some over Skype and so forth, but if you want to reach everyone on the team, you write a Facebook post. If you want to coordinate with your study group, you use Messenger.
That works if you have their numbers and/or email addresses. Nobody ever shared that at uni or anything. Basically from the start someone just made a closed Facebook group and told people to sign up, and that was that. And it works, so nobody is looking to find alternatives regardless of how crap Facebook is. And if you recommend an alternative you're met with opposition because "Can't we just stick with this? It works and we don't want to migrate".
Oof, that's rough. I guess that's when you have to hold your nose and do it, but it's terrible.

There are many options, but only Messenger can actually replace SMS because everyone you know uses it.
Not true. I know a lot of people who've deleted Facebook in the past couple years. Anybody with a mobile phone has SMS by default.

Incoming anti Facebook comments from the peanut gallery
By "the peanut gallery", do you mean this forum?

Don’t believe Zuckerberg is a sociopath? Facebook is already prohibited from collecting user data from WhatsApp in Europe yet he can announce a new plan to do exactly that without hesitation or qualification.

I wish we could just get the old Jabber functionality back... liked being able to consolidate messaging via the message app

So much distrust of facebook?

Don't worry. Their humongous stash of money will be used for the best ever PR job in history. You will LOVE facebook by the time they are done. It will be the most adored company in America.
