Too bad Facebook. You never asked anyone if you could infiltrate our every move to begin with. You made a business on it and now a small sliver of our rightful privacy is coming back to us. You should be grateful with what you’ve earned during that time. How dare you expect there are no limits on what you think belongs to you.

edit: I haven’t used Facebook in over 12 years but their reach is still upsetting. I don’t doubt they have a file on non users like myself, and still capitalize on it.

So when is Facebook joining Epic in suing Apple for their own app store on iOS to get around this?

@gnasher729 My favorite targeted ads are when I'm on some random site on my phone and I get a ton of ads for the company I work for (I'm a web developer) because I visit the site a lot seeing as I HELP MAKE IT, despite not really being the target audience!!!!

This is like a stalker complaining that they can no longer watch their target undressing because s/he started closing the window more often. I don't understand why these companies ever think we are going to go "Oh noes! My targeted ad! What will I do if the ads are *gasp* more generic!??!?!". The truth is a TINY percentage of people click on those targeted or not. And some don't click on them because they are friggin' creepy. So it hurts a few companies, even some smaller businesses. That sucks I guess, but its worth it to protect our privacy. We as a society need to come up with better rules on managing privacy on the internet. The governments haven't really done too much on it, so Apple is doing what they can here....

And how many apps will just modify their code to not function if you don't say yes?

Facebook are the premier repeat offender in customer digital rape. They consider themselves too big to fail and are acting accordingly. They just need to be taken down either by government pressure or similarly sized companies with better ethics like Apple.

"Facebook today warned advertisers that Apple's upcoming anti-tracking tools could cause a more than 50 percent drop in Audience Network publisher revenue..."

LMAO! The waaaambulance is on the way. Are we supposed to care that somebody is calling you out for your crappy practices of doing things without telling your users?

Thank you Apple. Facebook tracking is far too pervasive. I’ve removed all Facebook apps from my iPhone and am down to only two on my iPad. And on the iPad I use an app to block a lot of the Facebook (and Google) tracking.

Facebook is a joke. All that company cares about is its tracking and ad services, the actual customer be damned...

For corporations / businesses, making money is the main goal.

If the customer is helped out, it is a bonus but it is not the main goal.

Facebook can make money by charging its users or by advertising.

For people that disagree with Facebook's decisions, don't use the service.
