Facebook says that the vulnerability has been patched at this time
While a security review is conducted, Facebook is turning off the "View As" feature that was used for the hack.
Facebook is the worst thing ever. It destroyed the society and made people dumb.
Is there any single good thing about FaceBook? Honest question.
They're helping to mess up elections and our democracy, they're taking everyone's private information and selling it, they're taking private information from your contacts and attaching it to you with no way of you knowing, they take your additional phone numbers when setting up two factor authentication to sell to advertisers, the platform is generally a cesspool of fake news and people arguing. And if you try using a competing service, there's a chance that if FaceBook doesn't already own them, they will soon.
The only good thing I can think of is that it's useful in disaster situations to get a hold of friends and family, but even in those situations FaceBook in some countries was popping off celebratory balloons during these events in people's conversations, and more than that, what is so wrong with texting, emailing, or calling to tell your family that you are safe?
I gave them a small amount of information about myself in 2004 when I didn't know any better and thought it was the next Xanga or MySpace. I've learned since then and haven't touched the platform in 8 or 9 years. They have continually shown that they don't respect either their customers or our system of government and law. Zuckerberg thinks he is some sort of god who can do whatever he wants. As he said at Techcruch in 2013: "Sometimes we move too fast and break a bunch of stuff and have to fix it, it's cool." That is NOT COOL. This is the man "safeguarding" your private information. Don't act surprised when these leaks happen, or foreign governments exploit them, or they capture your shadow data and sell it to the highest bidder. This is a bad man, and I'm ashamed that he is one of the most well known representatives of my generation. We were supposed to be better! Our parent's generation was all about greed and excess, consequences to future generations be damned. We were supposed to be better! I am really starting to hate my generation.
Never had a FB account.
buy the dip, works every time.

was it facebook or the apple product in your pocket that you hold so dear?
Dont worry, facebook has a shadow profile on you thanks to your friends sharing their photos and contacts/address books with Facebook, and every company you've ever purchased anything with sharing with Facebook their customer lists.
Do yourself a favor and keep it that way.Never had a FB account.
I shut down my FB and still hear from my friends and family. Especially when they have a birthday party or shower they know I can’t come to, but will send a gift card for.If that were only possible, but you are naive to think that the average FB user will switch. We techie types would love to, but in this day and age convincing the majority of your family and friends to abandon FB is not going to happen, so we are stuck with FB or with little or no contact with family and friends. That is just the way it is, like it or not. Everyone is used to FB now, and expecting them all to agree to switch to another single platform is so naive as to be laughable. So if you are a loner, then switch if you want to. But if you have a lot of family and friends on FB, you are pretty much stuck with it for now, assuming you want to stay in contact with them.
lol trust me, most of my friends don’t do FB either. In fact I truly can’t thikk of anyone in my life outside of co workers that use FB. And they have little to no info on me. Certainly not my phone #, which I know is already out in the open. I can just google my number.
Who said anything about switching? It is called ditching. How did people communicate before facebook? If that were only possible, but you are naive to think that the average FB user will switch. Facebook and most other social media platforms are normalizing stupid thinking/behavior. People tend to be much more polite and think before they speak when in physical proximity - we're just hairless apes after all. They were always dumb. It just gave them a platform.

Hve you ever shopped online? If so, there is a shadow profile of you on Facebook..
so we are stuck with FB or with little or no contact with family and friends.
Great Apple story. Apple stock will surely take a dive for this.

1) My work group is on FB chat. Gonna be a pain to suggest a different one.
2) Dank memes.
But what of the dank memes, Jimmy? THE DANK MEMES?
And I swear down if you suggest Plebbit
LOL there are dank memes in Slack! There are so many plugins/add-ons there. Oh and Slack has a free tier, which the tech community here in TN uses.

I am only a FB lurker. Rarely post something. Better that way. Staying in stealth mode is the way to go, at least for me.
