Well for starters, delete the Fakebook App, then you won't have to worry about Apple's privacy pop up.

Really - tech gets under observation and all apple and facebook and google, etc. come up is this pseudo story about whether you can use apples ad identifier. Haha . Give me a break!
Facebook has almost everything of their users - the user give them freely and openly - and this shall be a problem?!
If apple was really about privacy why isn’t my ad identifier whatever this is - automatically reseted every day? I never asked anyone for that identifier anyways.

As someone stated all ads i want are NO ADS - i am just not into ads and even with apple devices its impossible to be safe from them!

I believe FB's Next Step AFTER this one will be offering Users two options:

1.) Agree to App Tracking, OR

2.) Pay us (i.e., FB or whoever) $4.99 USD or so per year to use the app.

Otherwise, I believe ALL of FB's apps, as well as most Popular Apps, will transition to become Trial Versions & that's ALL.

Once your 7 days OR so is up, it then becomes effectively Useless.

The valuations of ALL of the BIG Tech companies could take a 1/3 hit over this !

And it could play out for a year OR two.
As if facebook really cares about that - they still have enough of the serum they need - app tracking or not. This is just a publicity stunt from FB and Apple - i wouldn’t even be surprised if it was kinda ordered from White House.

Social media needs to burn down. I hope after the pandemic humanity has another awakening and genuine human contact becomes more relevant as we put down our mobiles and actually reconnect.

LOL, keep trying Zuck, your days are numbered by the amount of information the masses are given! Very few people will click "allow tracking" when FINALLY given the choice.
I am gonna tell you a few "secrets"

1. This whole ask not to track is on iOS only, most of the world is on Android.
2. 100% sure Google won't implement this.
3. Most Facebook Users are Stupid or Ignorant or don't care or uninformed or all of the above.

So, my conclusion is, most people will click the "Allow tracking" button.

err no thanks there is no benefit to personalised ads Facebook.

The don't allow button should be the blue colour button as your eyes are generally draw to my colourful option!

Good, if people have to pay, then maybe they will see why the dopamine hit isn't worth being tracked and all of the negative consequences of allowing their lives to play out publicly on social media.

If apple’s efforts will prevent me from being advertised products I have already purchased online, I support them on those grounds alone.

I also support them for all the other good reasons, by my goodness is that ever annoying!

I usually hate OS updates but I can’t wait to click that big “hell no” button.

but chances are, if you don’t click allow tracking they will eventually start to remove features from you until you either subscribe or submit

To the billions they use Facebook, at this point, you deserve to be data mined to death.
That's a bit harsh.

Many forums have long since moved to Facebook, and in many areas, Facebook is the only way to connect to like-minded individuals in that "tribe".

Also, for many solopreneurs and micropreneurs Facebook is the best place to create a community and find potential clients without resorting to advertising.

Is Facebook must-have for anyone? Probably not, for many people it is an incredibly powerful and useful tool that is hard to replace.

You can be sure that thousands of hours were spent refining that text to make it as compelling as possible for the user to allow them to continue tracking them. Too bad it's all just lipstick on a pig.

Also, is it just me but why do we need to "ask" apps to not track us? Is there no mechanism that just stops the tracking?

If they want to drive people away, that's a good thing. The beast survives on attention; the less it gets, the weaker it becomes. Think MySpace, but on purpose.

Watch Facebook add pop-up prompts that come back every 30 minutes until you accept them. Spyware, nagware, beware.

Hmm, they seemed to have forgotten the 3rd bullet: "Increase Facebook profits and shareholder value".

"This allows Facebook to provide you with a better ads experience". Really, seriously?!?. Who the hell wants more ads? What a slimy scummy company.

No thanks Facebook. Talk about tone deaf.

It is scary that 1 company owns 4 of the top 6 social media/chat platforms: Facebook, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Instagram. They already have too much information on everyone - they don't need to get anymore.
