That black tab is annoying. Can you imagine watching TV with one side of the screen having a black tab? How will movie watching work? Will it block out a part of the movie?
And it definitely looks slower than TouchID as well.

Usually Apple nails this stuff so maybe it will be awesome. I don't want my iPhone unlocked everytime I look at it though so not sure about it right now.
I think that’s a legitimate concern.

From what I saw, you still have to swipe up to unlock, so just looking at it would not unlock the phone. Well, when Face ID actually works...lol.
Dunno, but failing to see compelling justification for too much of a mark up.
only thing I cant work out with face ID how do you use it say in a drive thru in your car where you normally stick your phone on the receiver and use touch ID

Double tap the power button, look at the screen and then reach for the pay terminal.

Sometimes my finger I'd takes a second touch. I am betting it works quite well.
You can bet a few butts puckered when it did not work on stage.
