New MB arrived on Friday from the Apple Store. While setting up, I sensed pretty quickly that the battery was on crack. Wild swings in % readings. Stopped charging during the middle of charging. Took it to GB at local Apple Store yesterday. Genius ran diagnostics and battery failed test. He received a message from Apple asking him to "capture" my MB for study. Instead of waiting on a new i7/16/512, I traded it for a IPP 10.5/512 and received back the cash difference. Since this is my main media consumption and short email tool (instead of productivity), the trade suited me just fine. First out-the-box lemon I've bought from Apple. Happens sometimes. The difference is that Apple is usually great at resolving these problems for customers. I love the new IPP though.
