It's too bad element case charges so much for these bumpers. I find it sad to see so much interest in a trade mark/patent infringing piece of crap.

If element case charged a reasonable price for these... Because i bough one from Mr. Lin and it is perfect, no flaws, all gaps meet correctly, no play within, fits perfect. And it was only $40 and change including DHL shipping which arrived within a week from China.

I am about to order 3 more from him for a friend and family members for xmas.

One odds thing i noticed is that now I get emails from element case al the time so someone added my email to the distribution list, LOL

My real Vapor Pro is a Black Stealth version. I got a Silver copy to see if the quality was as good and to be able the switch my case colors from time to time. After owning and comparing the quality first hand, I sold the copy for what I paid.

If you had the copy and never saw a real Vapor Pro other that in pictures, you would probably be happy with it. Then again, if you had an average plastic android phone and never saw the quality of an iPhone other than in pictures, you would probably be happy with that too.

Did you post pics in the past??

A friend of mine has the real one and we compared the so called "fake" and the "real one" looks the same, even found some weird stuff on the "real" one that was not on the "fake"

What it boils down to is all cases are made in china for the cheap labor, like the 80%+ of products you buy daily. The ones being sold cheaper is because of just that, no customs involved which the companies selling for allot more have to pass it on to you the consumer along with shipping they also had to pay and their fluffy website and the greed to up the price to 200% above cost.

The Chinese vendor just have the manufactures locally make them and $20+ plus some chipping on the shipping is good money for them, which i am sure covers their cost and then some.

just my 2cents, no need to flame, to each it's own. I am ejoying my black ops and I know 3 more peeps that i know will do the same.

To support ElementCase. They put in the work to create a product and then some other company comes along and copies it and sells it under the same branding. To me, I find that unethical because the fake company did no work to build a brand.

I was SERIOUSLY considering buying an authentic Vapor case until I heard all of the HOROR stories regarding Elementcase's terrible customer service.

I would think that for the kind of money they are charging 'White Glove' level customer service should be a given.

You are right about that. Their Facebook page is full of people with complaints, especially since the 4S was released.

I got mine from tekcases.com which is a recommended dealer linked from the Element Case website. Shipping was free and they were 20% off at the time. That discount has gone down as demand has gone back up. Shipping was fast and the case is flawless.

I have no issue with people not liking the price. I just don't look kindly on companies who intentionally create fakes and pass them off as real and the people who intentionally support those fake companies.

There is no way I would pay $100+ for case of any kind. If the knockoffs didn't exist, I would do without. It's got nothing to do with supporting a U.S. manufacturer, because like I said, if Element was the only one making them, at the price they're asking, I wouldn't have one, period.

+1 I agree...I mix and match my silver and white and loving it for much much less :)

When you hold the real one in your hand, do you feel it is overpriced? Just curious about your opinion. For me, I was like "oh man...this is so light and plastic-like...can't believe it's going for $150 for the real thing".

That version was just announced today...

Just get a fake black Vapor Pro and a fake white one and mix and match them.

The copies will likely just do that with the same lower quality finishes that they have now and just add a copy of that R8 style back plate.

If you compared your real REAL Element Vapor Pro with a copy first hand like I did, you would be happy.

Have you ever held real carbon fiber? It's very light and feels plastic-like, but it demands a premium.

Date Ordered: 10/21/11
Date Received: 11/5/11
Which Seller: Jacky Nie
Your Location: Honolulu
Shipping Method : China Post

According to USPS, it was delivered on the 5th but I just returned from a trip and finally had a chance to put it on my phone. I ordered a blue/silver with the black insert. As expected, the insert was the shorter version since that's what was shown on the listing.

I've read many reviews saying that the case was slightly loose but I seem to have the opposite problem. My case is too tight. The plastic insert slides out of the top aluminum piece a little when all the screws are tightened. There is absolutely no movement of the phone in the case. I've tried the case with and without the padding and its still too tight.

Other issues I have with the case is the blue aluminum has several scratches on the edges where a little bit of silver is showing through. The area where the two aluminum pieces meet up is slightly misaligned so you can feel a sharp edge when you run your finger on it. The black insert is showing scratches where the special screwdriver would scrape if you're not careful. I noticed this could happen and did not use the included screwdriver but there were already scratches there, indicating that someone had already used this piece.

I've emailed Jacky to see if anything can be done about the tightness of the case.

Well, I've been going back and forth with Jacky Nie on the problem with my case and was told several times to cut down the pre-installed rubber inserts inside the case. I told Jacky each time that there was no rubber insert pre-installed and sent a photo. Jacky was shocked and confused and inferred that I removed them which I did not. Jacky then told me I need to add the rubber inserts that came in the box and it should fit because there is no way the phone would fit without any pads. I have no idea how that would have helped but I tried earlier and as expected, it did nothing to improve the fit.

I tried to explain that it may be one of the pieces, or maybe the RF insert that was made a little too short. Jacky said there was absolutely no chance that any of them were defective. Jacky said he/she could not help me any further.

Oh well, at least it was only $25 and its not like the case is unusable so I'll keep using it unless I find that the case starts scratching the phone without the pads. So far no scratches. The email conversations were friendly but it is a little disappointing that Jacky feels I'm trying to pull a fast one and is unwilling to help any further.

So as a heads up to anyone else planning to order from Jacky Nie, the customer service is great at the time of purchase but not so much if you have a problem with the order.

of course, I spent over $700 for my carbon fiber engine hood for my car, $500 for an attachment and $400 for side piece of my door...all carbon fiber so I know how it feels :) Let me know if you want picture of it :)

I want to see the pics!!! Gotta be better than this boring thread anyway!':D

good price....

I would buy it if I didn't have one already.

The sanding part is not too bad...time consuming...

I decided to remove my old wrapper color and mix it with white and silver case...and put only 1 side blue wrapper color to give it a different look to it cause I didn't want a silver case blending in with the silver antenna. The white case blending the silver antenna is a nice contrast.

That looks wonderful, very nice...

hehehe...your wish is my command :) The carbon fiber engine hood...the engine is in the back...

The Original

Hey guys
I've been lurking here for a while in this thread. I ended up purchasing a Vapor Pro White for $26 or so from Simon 4 days ago, since I'm excited about everyone's reviews! I'm still waiting for it.

However, lucky me! Originally I have a vapor 4 tactic case during the 50% discount sale at EC (before iP4s launch), which costed $60, but the case end up with paint defects (peeling). I had exchanged it and received a replacement case, but the peeling occurred again. Recently they discontinued the case so they gave me the option to exchange for a Vapor Pro instead ($60 for a Vapor Pro... why would I say no?:p). So yesterday I took the chance to e-mail with a rep and exchanged for a Vapor Pro White Edition :D(extra $20 for White edition). Like wow... fastest shipping ever, covered by EC, I got the case this morning, less than 24hrs shipping!
Mean time I'm waiting for my FAKE case, i'll share some pics of the REAL one.
I'll give a full comparison of both once I receive my order from Simon.

Silver/Silver Vapor Pro from Jacky Nie

Hi, this is my first post on this forum. :) I've read through this entire thread and it's been so helpful! I'm posting my experience just in case it helps someone.

I ordered 3 of the Vapor Pro cases from Jackie Nie. When I placed my order, the page for the Vapor Pro cases was already removed from his store. On 11/13, we chatted through aliexpress and I used Paypal to pay for 3 cases (silver/silver, blue/silver, and yellow/silver) with express shipping. He never sent tracking information. I received the cases today, 11/18. Fedex just left the package at the door- I didn't have to sign.

I received a silver/silver, a blue/silver, and an orange-red/silver (definitely not yellow). I've emailed him about the wrong color but he hasn't responded yet.

I've only tried the silver/silver case, but I'm impressed. It's a tight fit. There's a bit of scuffing on one corner, but I'm ok with that. I've noticed no change in signal, and my gps seems ok.

Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. I'll update with his response in regards to the color mixup.

Here is the Silver/Silver case on my White iPhone 4s with a hot pink luckylabs wrap.

Looks great, also nice to hear that you got one with a good tight fit...

I'm eagerly awaiting for my Black Ops, and Red/Black Vapor Pro's from Jackie Lin to arrive via regular mail...It was shipped on Wens...

my experience with aliexpress

purchased from cindy deng and submitted payment through paypal because i didn't want to register with aliexpress. excellent communication and tracking number was provided. just ask her for her paypal address.

ordered the all silver/transparent tab combo with the short tab for $18.95 as i was told it would cost $23.95 for the newer longer tab version. i was pleasantly surprised when she ended sending me the newer version for the lower price!

quality and fit is excellent. all joints are flush. just make sure the case is square and the joints match naturally without the assistance of tightened screws before installing.

no noticeable signal deterioration (i average -85db with or without the case) at my desk.

i noticed the key for the screw has two threaded slots to store the spare screws. very handy if a screw gets stripped out in the field as replacements screws are stored with the key.

in summary, the all silver combo appears to offer excellent fitment with seamless joints, and very resistant to scuffs when dropped (unlike paint which can chip or anodized colors that can scratch off).
