Any chance of getting a poll off of this subject? I know deciding on the options would be difficult, but I think it would be quite interesting to see what shows get top votes and by how much.....

so all one has to find out is, "who was terry parsons from melrose place in 1994 and 1995 and was jag created from that character?"

No, no.. I don't care about J.A.G...
I meant that I didn't think sMellrose was a spin-off from 9.0.2.1.Blow.
But it doesn't matter, really.

MacGyver was my all time favourite as a kid and still is.

Other than that their have been a few;
Stargate SG1
Stargate Atlantis
Scrubs
Quantum Leap
Buffy

i know, but it's just trivia...we should ask ken jennings

i think the blond girl from 90210 (jenny garth's character) had an older boyfriend (the handyman) in the last year of the show and he (jake) was a main character on melrose place, and then the gay guy on melrose had a navy officer boyfriend in the last year of melrose place (which had to be kept secret) and that character was the basis for jag, but this time the producers made that naval officer straight and kind of in love with his female co-star, mac, who was kind of in love back...so for the next ten years, jag played off the sexual tension of the jag lawyer and his female co-worker

I don't watch a lot of TV but here are the shows I do and have enjoyed.

Seinfeld (possibly my favorite show of all time)
South Park
The Daily Show
Mythbusters
Politically Incorrect/Realtime w/Bill Maher

I also watch random programming on the History Channel, Discovery Channel, Science Channel.

Digging this out from the dead cos I want to answer it myself. :)

I'm torn between two, so I'll do it thusly. My favourite British series is This Life. This Life was a drama ostensibly about a bunch of twentysomething lawyers, but mostly revolved around their lives outside of law. It's seen as something of a seminal television series, and quintessentially mid 1990s. It's funny, smart, and involving, and also quite nostalgic now.

Best American series has to be Twin Peaks. Utterly nonsensical in parts, but also desperately cool.

Another revival...

Mine are: (in aprox. order, they may shift around every once in a while, depending on the mood):
  • Futurama
  • Farscape
  • Scrubs
  • South Park
  • That 70's Show
  • BattleStar: Galactica (so far)
  • Most shows on the History Channel :D

Frasier is my altime favourite...yes I know I'm a sad geek. :)

Apart from that it must be The Simpsons, Friends and I'm sorry to admit it The O.C. :D

Too many to list, but if I had to list the top ones:

- Doctor Who
- Family Guy
- Seinfeld
- Simpsons (although only the first 7 seasons or so, now they're just getting old and tired and I don't watch them anymore...)
- Star Trek: TNG
- CSI Las Vegas

My favs:

Lost
Alias
The Amazing Race
Survivor
Family Guy / American Dad
60 Minutes
20/20

Here's to the Crazy Ones

Ah yes, I forgot that one - I really enjoy it as well, although this latest "Family Edition" leaves a lot to be desired....

Besides Grey's Anatomy, I really like The O.C., Lost, and King of the Hill. But Grey's Anatomy really got me the first time I watched it. I never heard about it, if just came on one Sunday night after Desperate Housewives and BAM I was hooked.

I love Futurama, nice story with some deep humor. One episode even made me cry.

Arrested Development is just hilarious.

And Prison Break is interesting but a bit ridiculous.

I miss Futurama. Always funny but there were some pretty sad episodes. The one with Fry's dog always gets me.
