I just wish Trump voters would realize and acknowledge (and be mad!!) that he's doing absolutely nothing he said he was going to do - The opposite in fact..

Bill Clinton style tax cuts.
Bill Clinton style immigration reform/rule of law.

Reduction in regulation.
Attempt to repeal Obamacare

Hasn't nuke North Korea. Hasn't started a war with Russia/Iran.

Stock market at all time high.
Unemployment at historic lows.
Unemployment in the Hispanic community at an all time low.
Cratering unemployment in the African-American community/record high wealth creation/home ownership.

Hasn't hunted down homosexuals, banned homosexual marriage, or put homosexuals in interment camps.

I mean not sure why Democrats would hate the guy. Can understand why Progressives do, they are irrational.

I'm what you would call a very reluctant Trump voter. I don't care for him, but I despised his opponent.

He's actually done a LOT of what he promised. I have no idea where this idea comes from. Most of what he promised has either been done or is in progress. Even liberal sources agree with that.

He's only been president for a year. I don't know how quickly you think things change in washington, but it isn't fast at all.

Your link shows 8% "promise kept" and 32% stalled..

I guess we'll have to check back on the 50% of "in the works"
I'm pretty skeptical he'll get much of that done.

I have a choice of comcast or comcast... verizon will not dig up the roads in my condo complex to install their network ... I'm in the Philly burbs not in the middle of nowhere. So i'd say you're wrong.

Well, technically I have a choice, either fast spectrum cable or 3mb ATT DSL for the same price.

A septic and well are perfectly reasonable alternatives; a hand pump and bucket for sewage are not, which is the point I was making and you ignored. So I guess I'll try again...is it reasonable to leave my electric company and rely on candlelight in 2017?

I mean my electric company (private company) has the state PUC dictate how much electricity I can use....then again, I can get solar.

This is the problem. The FCC exists specifically TO DO SOMETHING about consumers complaints against telecommunications companies.

The FCC is exactly like the SEC. Digressing a bit here, look at Wall Street. The most fraudulent activities happen and there is the SEC police that do nothing.

The price of capitalism ya'll.

Yeah, the country is being divided by comments on MacRumors forums, not by the orange idiot in the White House supporting bigoted child molesters, absolving actual Nazi's of wrongdoing, provoking credible nuclear armageddon via tweet, and insinuating that a sitting Senator is a whore. Totally makes sense.
It's ridiculous arguments like these that happen every single day everywhere, not MR specifically.

But I'm sure you already knew that and are just being argumentative on purpose. Ironic that kind of proves my point. Everything has to be super divisive with name-calling like orange idiot, molesters, bigots, etc. I'm so sick of this crap. Attacking people is not how you gain support.

Do you think dial-up is a reasonable alternative to broadband in 2017? That's like saying you can leave your water utility and get a hand pump in your yard.

You can or at least drill a well. However many areas that have municipal water also have deed restrictions or ordninances making wells illegal.

It is good because as Pai said it is to stop the federal government from "micromanaging the internet". He also said, "It is not going to destroy the internet. It is not going to end the internet as we know it. It is not going to kill democracy. It is not going to stifle free expression online,". So quit worrying so much!! I support Trump and if he says it is good I believe it is a good thing. He is doing everything to try an make America great again after the left has almost destroyed it.

What color is the sky in your world?

8% of his promises are completed within the first year of presidency. It's hilarious how fast you people think someone in his position can work.

Unbelievable. Now I have to go back to paying to access per website and tiers. I don’t want to pay $5 for unlimited access to YouTube and another $5 for Facebook. Remember when you had to do that back in 1996?
That isn't how this will work at all. Congrats on falling for all the fear mongering.

Never mind - You seem to like him, that's totally fine.
I'm personally embarrassed by him.

For the sake of the world, I hope he gets better and better while in office, truly..

Very poor analogy since neither of those companies existed in 1996, nor do they charge for unlimited content now.

Dial-up is garbage, but DSL is perfectly usable for web browsing and video streaming. Heck it can be faster than "broadband" in certain areas. Just wouldn't want to deal with SSH connections or gaming over it.

Yes, finally all the fear mongering from the left can stop. The world will continue to spin and innovation will not be hindered by Obama era regulation.

Tell me specifically what kind of innovation was hindered by this regulation? The only thing I see hindered is fairness. Now the big guys will be able to screw over any upstart new company which won't have a chance. That stifles innovation, not causes it!

Another pointless/needless/costly regulation rolled back. About time!!!

What actatly was costly? Please show me how it was costly.

What you have to remember is you have the ultimate power. Cancel the Internet (life will go on) and if enough people do they will see profits go down and they will rescind the changes. You're starting to see that shift with cord cutting eating into cable TV

Uh...you need the internet in order to cord cut unless you are just using an antenna for the locals, but how many are doing that? It's a pretty subpar experience for a lot of people. And isps have responded by putting in bandwidth caps just like phone companies.

Heck, if enough people stop using the Internet

Yeah, that's not going to happen.

Well done Trump voters. Hope you're enjoying America becoming great again ;)

Unless I missed it, no one has mentioned that Ajit Pai was appointed by Obama in 2012. It's a bipartisan effort unfortunately to some extent. He was approved unanimously in the Senate, according to Wikipedia. The Dems didn't even put up a fight. So Dems and a few Republicans coming out for Net Neutrality are too little, too late. You'd have to be pretty dumb to appoint someone formerly from Verizon and think he wouldn't try to pull something like this. Hopefully progressives will be elected and undo the harm our current corrupt system has done to the Internet.

Sure and someone will come along and offer an ISP that doesn't have those restrictions and gives superior service. Like many of the municipal ones. Or EPB in TN. Or many of the smaller WiSPs.

What you have to remember is you have the ultimate power. Cancel the Internet (life will go on) and if enough people do they will see profits go down and they will rescind the changes. You're starting to see that shift with cord cutting eating into cable TV.

Heck, if enough people stop using the Internet and it eats into YouTubs, Google, Apple, etc's profits, one of them will put a stop to it real quick. Or buy a few ISP's and roll their own.
Everyone would still rather have restrictive internet than no internet, and not enough people are going to unify in a movement. If you disagree, and things get ugly in a year or two, use your last kilobytes to post proof that you're cutting the cord.

Assuming you could find a dial up card in 2017. Which as a Mac user wouldn't do you any good since Macs don't come with PCI slots anymore.

Obviously the people here defending this vote have financial interests in removing these rules.

This is bad for Americans and consumers.

People here working for the ISPs good for you or maybe your stock portfolio has many of the companies that would benefit....
