Here's my Powerbook's desktop. Normally it's a mess. "Post Your Desktop" threads are typically the only time it's clean. And I can guarantee you that if I wasn't going to bed after submitting this post, it would be messy again in 5 minutes ;)

To be perfectly honest, we share more or less the same desktop, albeit mine is much more of a mess. BTW this is the first and last time I'll post my desktop.
Have you got a link to that 'McDrive' icon please?

I am still saving for my switch over to an Imac. Its a picture while on a cliff walk on Howth peninnsula, north of Dublin.

Going through this thread again, I just realised most people have pristine desktops. Am I the only one here that uses OS X "old-school way", i.e. with loads of folders on my desktop. Or are you guys and gals just cleaning-up for this thread? :p

I only have a few folders, files on my desktop when I'm working on a little project otherwise I keep it clean. It go nuts if the Desktop is cluttered with folders/files/icons. I do spent a great deal of time cleaning and organizing my files for fast access and to minimize the clutter.

How so Glenn? I am very interested in where this information is so I can read it, you have a link?

It's in the newest MacWorld magazine. The "Ultimate Mac Tune-Up" article :).

Nice Nathan, on the way too the shuttle launch?
It was somewhere on I-4, so it was either:

(a) on the way to the hotel after picking up tickets
(b) on the way to the astronaut museum after the launch
(c) on the way from the astronaut museum back to the hotel
(d) on the way to Clearwater
(e) on the way from clearwater to Orlando
(f) in transit to/from Univ. Studios
(g) on the way to VA from Orlando

It was taken on 8/2/05 at 6:12:42 PM.. so you decide.

My desktop is an utter mess when I'm working on photo's, there's files and folders all over the place. It's also my default download destination where I can use files before deciding what to do with them. I set up a Finder plug-in with Automator to move every file into its proper place on my hard drive, be it music, movies, photo's, .dmg files etc. and I have another to clean up files I've been working on which archives all my images and imports the finished images into iPhoto so a clean desktop is never more than 2 clicks away :D (well, 4 clicks technically... and I guess I have to hold down ctrl twice too :p )

Heres mine (after a couple of clicks), the wallpaper is a shot I took of a train station where I work.

I've been redefining my powerbook as a true notebook. In that I mainly just take notes on it now. It's trim, it's slim, and it has a picture of someone dear to me on it too :)
