The people who posted after your first link are right-- it is a Windows box emulating the Mac look. On that very link you linked to, the 'artist' says,
Oh, sorry, I didn't realise they were talking about my post.
Just stick to the plain normal ones . . .

Keeping on the winter theme . . .

. . . even though it was raining in Ottawa yesterday. Taken in my backyard.

Haha, so Gary, how about some setup pictures now since you aren't taking the G5 in for service? I haven't seen your 30" ACD yet.

Oh, ok. I have my new fisheye on, so I'll give it a go in a bit.

Oh now you guys are messin' with me again. :(  :D

To be perfectly honest, we share more or less the same desktop, albeit mine is much more of a mess. BTW this is the first and last time I'll post my desktop.

Mine, with the new and improved GIMPshop in my dock. Sorry MRers, I forgot where I got the desktop.

Looking forward too it :)

Just out of interest, why do you have the default background most of the time? I also use it because its just so Apple Cool ;) But why do you use it? I thought you would be using a grey or tan color because of your digital photography.

I've always like the background. I can't deal with a busy picture in the back.

That's unfortunate, I really like that image. Is there anyway I could get it through email or IM?

Going through this thread again, I just realised most people have pristine desktops. Am I the only one here that uses OS X "old-school way", i.e. with loads of folders on my desktop. Or are you guys and gals just cleaning-up for this thread? :p

My Mac is always clean. I never have any icons on my desktop and my dock is filtered to include items used multiple times daily. I take great pride in my machines organization, so i can find things fast.

eh, nothing too special this month
Got a link to that please? Thanks!

This is mine. The PowerBook is my own 12" taken charging in the dark on my desk. The quality isn't brilliant as my Sony camera was a bit faulty.

All I do on my mac is surf the web, iTunes, and IM. So I don't really need a lot of folders on my desktop. But I did hide some .dmgs in my screenshot so it would look pretty :p.

..And having a lot of icons on your desktop slows OS X down, doesn't it?

I refuse to have a messy desktop. Mine is always pretty clean unless doing a major music download session or a some type of graphic work, but i clean it up immediately afterwards.

Desktop is usually nice and clean, I don't like to leave too many icons floating around unless I am really crunching for a deadline (then all sense of order goes to he!! . . .) However my Documents folder generally looks pretty ugly . . .
