February Orders of iMac 27"

Actually, here's a question: I just checked, and noticed that my order status - and timing, which is still at 4-6 weeks from when I ordered (Feb. 28, so estimated for 4/5-4/17) - haven't changed. This should be reduced soon, right? How long should I give them before calling and asking about it? Any thoughts? Thanks!!

I just posted something very similar to that. I'm in the same situation. I still have over 4 weeks left to wait according the account page and I've waited 2 weeks already. The model I ordered is now 2-4 weeks on the website. I hope mine gets pushed forward (oh, yours too! :))

Yes, I saw your post, too. I can't imagine that we'd just get pushed to the end of the line; surely now that things are moving a bit faster, they'll speed us along... won't they?

I think, though, that if I don't see any change in a day or so, I'll try giving them a call. Good luck with yours - and keep us posted!!:)

I just checked again and it's shifted to March 25 - April 08. It's only 3 days closer. Hopefully it'll move again... :)

Mine is still being processed :( ordered Feb 16th. Hopefully it changes soon since they reduced the waiting time on them.

I7, 8GB ram, 3 TB fusion, 680 MX is what I ordered.
 
Credit card has been charged... yay! Still listed as processing, but expect to see it shift status in the next few days.

Ordered 23 February.

I've been reading this thread for some time gauging how long it'd take me to get an iMac based on all your delivery schedules/experiences. However, just yesterday, I managed to luck out and score one at Tekserve.

As some New York people may know, Tekserve is a authorize Apple store that tends to stock customized Apple products. I'd completely forgot about them until I received a phone call following up on my MacBook Air, which they repaired a few months ago. So when they mentioned they had a customized 27" i7 iMac in stock, I ran over & picked it up !

I previously had a 27" i7 iMac (Jan - September 2012), but leaving the processor speed aside, this one has the 2GB Graphics Card and the Fusion Drive, which make it really responsive. It came with 8GB RAM, but I'll bump that up to 32GB. But overall, early impressions are very positive. Physically, from my viewing angle anyway, it looks the same. But the that's where the similarities end.

The overheating problem hasn't resurfaced (left it overnight restoring from my Time Capsule). And even the un-boxing experience is much better. The curiosity I had of the strange box shape was cured when I was easily able to get the iMac out without touching the screen or having to lift the unit at a uncomfortable vertical angle. Obviously I've not used it much, but so far my experience is better than I expected.

So to everybody waiting for theirs, hang tight, I hope for you it'll be worth the wait.

Ah-ha! Mine just switched to exactly the same thing: 2-4 weeks/March 25 - April 08. Let's hope it moves even closer....:D

So you ordered about a week before I did (Feb 28)? Doesn't seem fair; hope you get yours first!

Yeah, I ordered mine on Feb 18. I'm sure we'll both have our nice new iMacs soon enough but thanks anyway! :)

I guess location makes a difference here. I'm in Berlin, Germany.

Question here. The box, does it have handles? I was thinking of unboxing to check first, then pack it up and carry it to my local store to boot camp. I didn't want to waste money getting a super drive that I am going to use for boot camp only.

Yes, the box has a handle on the top.

I ordered this on Feb 20th. Now my status just switched to "Preparing for Shipment." It still says March 26th, but I expect it to come much sooner than that. I can't wait!
 
Ordered my Student Priced iMac on the 22nd Feb.
$125 Gift Gard sent on the 25th. Received on the 1st of March (Expected delivery was the 6th)
Just checked and my account has been charged today (5th March)
Now my order status says Available to ship 7-10 business days :)
(Expected delivery 18th to 21 March)

Super excited.....
 
I ordered my iMac on Feb 18. My card has not been charged and it still says processing items. Delivery date still says March 14 - 21. I live in Portland, OR.
 
I ordered my imac on Feb 11. Just shipped yesterday. Should arrive by March 8th. The tracking originated in Newark California. Does that mean it was built in the USA?

Hm. Just got that too (on the Hungarian page). It was fine a few hours ago. Wonder what's up?

It's probably because Apple has requested that the shipper pick up your Item but it hasn't been picked up yet and your tracking number is not in the system yet. It's really hard to be patient when it's so close. But relax it will be there soon.

Another suggestion is YOUTUBE. There are a lot of instructional videos on youtube in several languages. You can find a lot of help there.

It's the website. Now it says:

We're sorry, but our Order Status services are extremely busy right now. Please try again later.

So, actually, this probably is the case. ;)
