That's interesting. First time any FedEx flight has gone to Newark. I have always gone to Memphis then to Dulles. So I guess I will be trucked as soon as it hits Newark, NJ.

Yeah, mine's on that flight, too. But mine's got a bit more distance to travel after that - the local FedEx flight into BTV comes out of EWR, stops in SYR and then lands in BTV. All on an old 727. Assuming the winds are right, it'll be flying right by my place on final approach at about 7:45 in the morning.

And no, I don't know this because I'm an obsessive package tracker  (really...I'm not!). I used to work at the airport. Besides, I'm more interested in all these flights because I'm curious about the aircraft types and routes than I am about knowing where my iPhone is at any given second.

I'm on the same flight which lands at 10PM and my delivery address is only 30 minutes away from Oakland. MAYBE THEY WILL DELIVER EARLY ON THE 23RD. Hahaha here come the imagination police!

the flight will land 30 min early now :D got the update on flight track pro

edit: i hope it dont ship to memphis after it reaches the bay. that would suck

Works for me as well. Plus I am still amazed that this kind of information is available. Wonderful and still shocking!

Haha, that would be interesting if they did that. My phone is on that flight too, I am not too far from Oakland.

I remember seeing something through FedEx go from China, to AK, to OAK, to Memphis or Indy (I forget), then back to California for delivery to me. It was on-time, but I just thought it was a bit strange route wise.

yea very strange. if its in cali it needs to stay in cali.. fedex already comes to my home late. so on the 24th it will be a long day for me..

Ok, how do I find out when the next Fed Ex flight from Oakland to LAX is? Wow, who am I?

It looks like the next hop is Memphis, Fedex's main hub. Hope I'm wrong, I'm in Los Angeles as well.

But it doesn't matter anyway, they all going to arrive on the 24th...

edit: if thats the case why not fly from alaska to memphis?

edit 2: i may be reading wrong but flight 86 history seems to end at oakland. then i checked flights from oakland and non go to memphis.. i may be reading it wrong but we shall see soon

It is most likely going to Los Angeles or Ontario Airports. Otherwise it would have gone directly to Memphis.

So, where does my phone go now? Ha, this is fun.

You realize you just posted your telephone number for all to see, right?

Do they scan right at landing like they did when it left Alaska or do we have to wait overnight for the next update?

i thinking tomorrow they will be where they should be or maybe the day after. like i said in my last post when stuff comes into la its usually at lax or hawthorn. i dont know where it sits at in the bay. and to answer your question i think once they are off the plane they will scan.

they unload the AMJ cans off the plane put onto tugs that take the cans into the sort facility where they are unloaded onto a conveyor belt and goes thru "mazes" and sorted by a computer system by zip code.

Heres the memphis hub during "Quiet time"
