Welp I'm on the 3:20 (Fedex #14) flight headed for Indy which makes sense since I'm in Ohio, so don't look for just Memphis flights. Look for the Departed Scan time and match it up with whatever Fedex Departure out of Anchorage there is.

Good find!

I don't know why I assumed all fedex flights from Anchorage would fly straight to Memphis. Obviously, this is not the case.

Our phones are buddies! I to am in Ohio.

That's interesting. First time any FedEx flight has gone to Newark. I have always gone to Memphis then to Dulles. So I guess I will be trucked as soon as it hits Newark, VA.

Only if you are NYC. Otherwise I suspect it will be flown to Memphis and then the final destination city. I don't think FedEx Express trucks packages from one city to another. BTW Newark is in NJ, not VA. Not sure if that was a typo or not.

Yeah, it was a typo I fixed it in my original post.

Like I said all of my FedEx packages went from China->Anchorage-> Memphis-> Washington Dulles-> to my local facility-> delivery.

So if I am truly on that Newark, NJ flight, that will be a first for me.

once you get departure time. how does one find the flight number and where its going

When you go to the flightaware page, click on the departures column. Then look for the departure time that is on your tracking. You'll have a Fedex flight that'll say FDX---. The departure scan is exactly when the flight leaves Anchorage so it shouldn't be hard to find.

Well it looks like the last scheduled flights out of Anchorage left about 20 min ago. Mine is still in AK it would appear unless it gets updated shortly.

Just keep checking your tracking, then when you get a departure scan go look at flightaware. The Fedex flights aren't usually filed until a few hours before flight time so keep checking back.

Looks like my phone is on the flight to Indianapolis (FDX14). Kinda odd since I live in Overland Park, KS. maybe from Indy it goes to memphis, then Kansas City.

Well my phone left at 320 which suggests INDY. I'm in Nashville so I would have thought it would have gone to Memphis. We will see I guess.

I am confused... Is my iPhone on the Newark flight?

This is the most fun I've had in a looooong time! :D
My iPhone must be spending the next couple of nights at the Hotel Captain Cook here in Anchorage!

I sure hope it has a nice room, maybe I'll head down & visit for a while...

Dear God!
What if someone in China left my iPhone on! And now it's at an altitude of 33,000 ft according to flightaware, the maximum operating altitude according to Apple is only 10,000 ft!!!
