I am proud to be part of the problem that caused Apples servers problems on the 15th, bring AT&T to it's knees, and now fedex update system

just got mine woo hoo!! what a crazy ride.. i hope the new iphone performs better than this launch!![]()
I live in Little Rock, AR and just received mine around 1:00pm.
One of the first things I did was load up Plants vs. Zombies, as it used to take almost 2 minutes to boot up and get to playing on my old 3G. Now it takes about 10 seconds! Very nice. Looking forward to investigating it further once I get off work
Correction: Closer to 6-8 seconds. Really impressive.
Mine is due today from AT&T... FedEx status just updated to say it's in Oakland.
Maybe the wrong thread for this, but more likely to hit somebody who knows...
Can AT&T-ordered upgrades (same number, same plan) be activated just with iTunes, or do I really have to call them like it says in the e-mail I got, which I can't because I won't be home before 6pm (9pm EST) when the phone line apparently closes. I thought I read somewhere else that you only have to call them for new activations or number ports...
I don't know why I bother checking this thread. Mine has a delivery date for tomorrow and when I spoke to a rep they confirmed tomorrow's delivery date. I'm just a sucker looking for punishment![]()
Well, I can share my experience on the matter.
I got an email from AT&T stating my phone has arrived, but to pick it up tomorrow. I received a voicemail from the AT&T rep that sold me the phone that I can pick up the device from 7am until closing. No mention of date was to be heard.
Since I see FedEx orders being delivered today for people, coupled with the fact that my FedEx tracking number displayed in my AT&T account says it will deliver today before 3pm, I stopped at the store to pick up my phone.
I was told that I cannot pick it up until tomorrow...
"But it's here, I paid for it in full, I can't have my iPhone?", I asked.
The rep then said, "We have an agreement with Apple not to give them out until tomorrow."
"Then why is Apple saying that people with confirmations for today will actually get there's today?" I then showed him the Macrumors post and text from Apple's email stating they will be delivered today.
Rep then calls his boss at corporate, boss says tomorrow.
So if I had ordered it from the company who makes it, I get it today, yet the company who makes it told AT&T they can't distribute their paid for in advance stock, until tomorrow?
I'm a bit puzzled by this and was looking forward to using the new phone at a friends birthday this evening.
ON TIME through AT&T ... FedEx said before 3 PM today and it arrived at 1:50 pm. YYYYYYYYYYYES!
