I wanted Spain to win, but i'm glad they were also overwhelmingly the better side. Despite the ref's best efforts.

0 shots on target for Arg in 120 minutes is embarassing

Icing on the cake was Enzo Fernadez finally being sent off. Shame Paredes didn't join him (turns out he did). Pathetic.

Paredes and Tagliafico too, both should have had their second yellows. Dirtbags.

Okay, apparently there were a bunch of music acts before the 3rd-place game (which I missed) that made some folks here unhappy, but I have to say that as good as this defense game was, seeing the reunion of this great band during the halftime show was the high point of my day!

I think the entire World was hoping Spain would win and so glad they did. The real score was 2-0 but the ref had his brief and so did the VAR panel. Two dives leading up to a disallowed goad couldn't stop Spain. It was a pretty dull match I thought overall, but finals are often like that.

I was saying to my younger colleagues last week that if Argentina don't win, a fight will break out as it has so many times throughout history and I did smile as I saw it happen last night lol. Their temperament and entitlement on full display.

Pleased for Mbappe too, the only player to win the golden boot twice.

The best team won the World Cup, and the best player got a send-off on the biggest stage. I'm glad Messi was able to contest another World Cup Final, it's an honor to be there and since he couldn't get the trophy, it's fitting that he watched Spain take it, with many players from the club of his life.

Messi trying to get Cucurella a red card for semi-covering his mouth is such an illustrative moment.

That incident incinerated what little respect I had left for Messi. He's a goon and a cheat just like the rest of his team.

Football won yesterday, thank goodness, even though FIFA had their thumb on the scale the whole time. Williams' disallowed goal was particularly egregious, and Parades should have seen red within 20 minutes of subbing in.
