Well, good morning all, I went into an empty gym today, it's never empty in my gym, ever, I guess people are recovering from the pain, and drinks they consumed last night.

Also a very cold and all-white outside today (frozen).

That said, it's a good day to go out to an almost empty high street today.
I felt bad for the supporters.
they deserve better

I must admit I poured myself a triple gin and tonic after the match and needed something to dull out the disappointment. Supermarkets were quiet this morning but I live in Wales so think it’s more to do with the snow and ice unless they were celebrating our loss? lol

Yea well social media (Twitter etc.) was a bit of a mess today.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I am gutted about yesterday's result, I really was cheering for us to win and finally have the chance to even go to the semi-finals, but deep inside also telling myself not to get too excited as we have been disappointed many times in the past.

I hope you poured me a drink and drank it :p, as I don't drink myself.

Just had a cup of tea. So let's have that instead (I did have mulled wine with a shot of rum last night but as I work tomorrow...)

So, who are our English friends pulling for now?

Rooting for a Morocco miracle?

Anybody, but Argentina?

I’m avoiding twitter and social to be honest. As soon as Kane missed that penalty I knew the British tabloid press and the fickle masses would be flocking to vilify him. I’m living in ignorance from all that today thankfully lol.
I avoid it by never joining it. Can’t be bothered with any of it. I suspect Kane’s miss will be forgotten when he becomes England’s top scorer with his next goal.

My (now) friend gave up a Homerun in 1981 to end the season for a team
and a trip to the World Series of the other
that never bothered him and he pitched well afterwards and will talk about the at-bat with a smile!

Kane though, has no hope!

Your friend is Steve Rogers?! Wow, he was a pitcher I really loved watching when I was a kid. That 1981 Expos team had enough to win the World Series, but one swing of Rick Monday's bat broke a lot of hearts.

Harry Kane will go like Steve Rogers, though: he'll shake it off and resume his career at the highest levels. Failure is a part of the game, and England should feel absolutely no shame in losing to a team as good as France is. Normally I'm pretty hard on Gareth Southgate, but he didn't do a lot wrong in this match: he stuck with a more attacking starting lineup that caused France problems rather than revert to a back 3. Maybe should have brought in Rashford earlier instead of Sterling, but I don't think it would have mattered.

Morocco
Croatia
France
Argentina
In that order.
Anybody but Argentina.

While I like France, (gorgeous kit, a very good team, and I adore French culture, the language, the history, the cuisine), and would not regret it were they to claim victory, at this stage, I would like to see a team that has never won the World Cup lift the trophy. So, Croatia or Morocco.

We would exchange pleasantries during the 80's -90 and this century at those Expofest.
Steve is just a class professional person who loves to laugh!
I don't know if he is watching the *World Cup, I have not seen him since 2016, and very briefly

*on topic

The Morocco v France should be a very interesting game IF the Moroccon manager has done his homework properly because the England v France game would have given him a few good pointers. Mbappe was contained BUT it allowed Giroud and Griezmann more freedom. Will be interesting to see what tactics he uses.

Is it a weird feeling not to be so keen on watching today's game, I feel more excited for tomorrow's game.
