I'm rooting for Argentina, I think it it will be a great accomplishment for Messi, and given where I live, there's quite a number of nationals living in the area, so you can't help but get caught up in their excitement.

Nice game of football to watch this afternoon. Not really rooting for either side. Just hoping for a good game.
Morocco look quite iffy at the back at the start.

I don't think Morocco will score and take 3rd place, as you said @Apple fanboy, they are making it difficult for themselves at the back.

duhh, I forgot the Match started early, whatta louser I can bes!
so I turned on in the 75th minute and turned off the 79th
due to FOX hating the sport and wincing over a non penally instead or covering the live action for 4 minutes.
then they call a sports doctor for who....who knows why?
they blab and blab and show footage of somethihg else

everything else about the Qatar World Cup was great tho
some teams progressed while some stank!

sooooo happy I can get the BBCs or Espåná TV for tomorrow match!

What I find interesting is a story doing the rounds in the media about an English ref who was marked as being the one to officiate in the final but FIFA said no because of the Falklands war, a war between the UK and Argentina which for many still causes issues. Ref's are supposed to be impartial, that is what FIFA stipulate as a job requirement but it seems not even FIFA are prepared to trust their ref's to be impartial.

We’ve had a few wars with the French over the years as well!

It’s probably more to do with avoiding a backlash by Argentina for any decisions that do not go their way. The ref probably is impartial in his job but the accusations would say otherwise. He most likely doesn’t want the hassle.

Yes, going right back to the Middle Ages, in fact.

That makes complete sense.

Not a pen, and the french look leggy and bereft of ideas. Then again not surprising, they haven't been great throughout the tourney whilst Arg look hungry and are bang on form.

Halftime. Argentina is dominating. Messi is super. Maybe France will show up on the field for the second half.

You mean when universities were founded, philosophy came back in full force, new technologies and sciences were developed at a speed never seen before, and Magna Carta changed the world of human rights?

(Sorry, I had to defend the good old Middle Ages 😂. I’ll go back to my cave 😆)

Okay, I will concede that these points are also valid.......

Unfortunately, I cannot see France recovering.

You know, I used to make some of those very arguments to my students when they were a little too uncritically and unquestionally worshipful re Renaissance achievements.

They were always surprised to be told that the Middle Ages had some positive features.....
