so that article on the Mac Rumors page about the iphone 4's selling out, that was JUST for people doing in-store pickup for the 24th, right? Because i cant wait to get my hands on my phone next Thursday! An extra day would seriously feel so long.
 
Same here. Been trying all day and so close. Finally did in store pick up at around 4pm est. Then came home and tried one more time on apple site. Worked. Now waiting for confirm email to be certain.

Fun day.

PS I was upgrading from 3GS. Kept all plans the same.
 
I had a scare at one point. I was scared it didn't go thru (I used the app to reserve for pickup at store since Im exchanging my 3Gs I just purchased to the iPhone 4) I tried via Apple's website when people were getting them to go through.

Got a message saying they could not provide an upgrade and to Call ATT. I did that. ATT informed me thats cause Apple is already seeing my reserve and I can't reserve on the same phone number. So if any of you got that error it might be why.
 
Tried this morning, tried this afternoon and have been trying even since I got home from work... Finally got the pre-order to go through around 20 minutes ago. Got my order number; waiting on confirmation e-mail...
 
Finally got through at 7:43 est. I am a bit worried because there is no email and when I try to check my order status on the website I get errors.
 
Tried for parts of the morning and afternoon. Took off to the pool and came back a few hours later and it sped through the Apple site. Whatever was wrong they finally fixed it. Would have been great if it was working like this all day long. Now just waiting for the confirmation email which I suspect will take a bit of time to get back. I was a little disappointed that I had to have it shipped to my house and not my work. Looks like I will be working from home that day, and so will my boss and most of my co-workers :)
 
Wow, just went to a studio where my kids take class and the master said he had just managed to get through on his office computer. I tried on his machine (even though I was still trying on my laptop) and sure enough, first try, went through. So I'm good to go.

I went back to my laptop and tried again, no luck. I then reset Safari, the cache and cookies, and boom, I got in.
 
Finally got mine through. Tried four times in a row and the fourth time it went.

Upgrading from a 3G. Getting a 32GB, black of course. :)

I tried around 4:30am EST, got through, but never got my confirmation email. When Apple was till answering phones, they said try again til I get the confirmation email. Tried all day long on my iPhone, and finally got thru around 4pm. Got 1....loving it already...
 
After 13.5 hours I finally got through. There was a problem at first, it made me select a data plan when I wanted to keep my unlimited, followed by "could not process request." So I went back and got through again and unlimited data plan was auto selected for me, now just waiting on that mystical/mythical confirmation email . . .
 
Got two separate orders in right around 4:15 PDT. I've been trying basically non-stop since 5:45 this morning and was just about to give up.

Let's hope Apple and AT&T do a better job with activations on launch day. I won't hold my breath though.

Just got my second one through although they wouldn't let me upgrade a phone on my account that was eligible for the 299 deal. They kept telling me I had to go to the store over and over and over and over and over to set it up.

does that mean that no new accounts can be opened from the apple store?

I was able to upgrade my phone but at 499 instead of the 299.

I'm getting the same message.. I'm an existing customer switching from Blackberry.
 
Finally got in about 45 minutes ago. It was funny because it was right after I setup a reservation. :p

Looking forward to the 24th!
