to technically i am in position 78 lol with ~125k units! i dont suppose there is anyway to join the units from my other username?

Sorry, not that I know of :(

No more than that? You might want to try bigadv but somehow I don't think you will hit the deadline to get the bonus. Also use "-smp 8" as the core i7 iMac has 4 real and 8 virtual cores...

im purposely using 4 cores (400% CPU) to keep the temperatures down. i also do a lot of multitasking and stuff and it just seems to slow it down considerable more even though its a low priority task. it gets just THAT bit noisier too at night.

I have tried everything to get my i7 980x (Ubuntu) to do bigadv units to no avail. today I found a thread that indicates there is a problem with the a3 core and bigadv on it and they aren't going to fix it, long story short - no bigadv on 6 core intel chips...

whuuuuuut!?!? how does that work? does support need to be built in to run on the new chips? odd :\

They have turned off bigadv for Linux, but still going for Windows and Mac OS X. Running the non-bigadv a3 core yields almost the same PPD (at least if you don't get a 6701).

Where did you see they are not going to fix it? They will try but as usual make no promises about it.

The number of cores have nothing to do with it.

Congrats for 20 mio points!

10MM

never thought I'd ever see that number next to my name

:D

congrats! yeah i never thought i would see that next to my name either, but hey, we made it! now just gotta try and keep it going

Congrats! That is nice to see!

AND you have a shot at twodcc!

yeah it looks like when i finally become #2 on the team, i will be passed shortly after. i need one of those new mac pros!

well up until now, i lived in a small apartment, and i traveled a lot for work. so my power bill was high for a small apartment, but not too bad. now i'm in a house, and i haven't gotten the first full month's bill yet

you will be in for a suprise then i bet. how many computers do you have? about 4 main ones iirc? each with a few GPUs? thats a good 600W per machine!

quad-monthly in australia our family bill is about $600aus ($550US) - so we dont want to go much higher

well luckily i have a roommate to share the bill with. i have 4 main computers, but only 3 for folding, with 2 gpus each.

i should find out next week what the bill will be though. i sure hope it's no where near what you are paying though.
