example of what i do:

./fah6 -smp 2 -bigadv -verbosity 9 -local

thank god for forums! i was so lost :)

i now have my work iMac trying to get some units, it seems to be faultering though (it was working a minute ago).

Code:
               NODE (s) Real (s) (%)
       Time: 210.590 210.590 100.0 3:30
               (Mnbf/s) (GFlops) (ns/day) (hour/ns)
Performance: 100.684 6.507 1.429 16.800

it unfortunately gets stuck :/

anything obvious?

i guess it needs time then :)

EDITx2: got it. started it with
./fah6 -smp 2 -bigadv -verbosity 9 -local
instead.

EDITx3:
[22:03:43] Completed 0 out of 500000 steps (0%)
[22:16:28] Completed 5000 out of 500000 steps (1%)
not bad for an i3 21.5" running 200% :)

if you have an i3, and are only running it on 2 cores, then you should do this:

Code:
./fah6 -smp 2 -advmethods -verbosity 9 -local

you won't make the -bigadv bonus

well you better hope that they don't!

hahahaha. it will be fine, we have an incredible amount of machines here idling 24/7 (power mac g5s! they chew the power) and nobody cares.

1,800 for half a days work - thats not too bad i guess. maybe i will turn my i7 imac back on at home, now that we have solar panels ;)

So, we're talking about folding on iMacs now. Still have a question about that: How do you guys get the iMacs screen go to sleep when folding? Mine screen keeps going out of sleepmode after a few seconds.
