Here's hoping that WireGuard creates a tvOS app. I run my own WireGuard server and it would help accessing Plex server, Channels DVR, etc. while traveling with an AppleTV.
Based on what I read, upcoming VPN support allows the ATV to access private and corporate networks rather than geo-locked content.I'm new to Apple products---Macbook pro for about a year and Iphone for about 2-3 years. Now I bought a used 4K (2017) Apple TV box. Wiped it clean and installed IOS 17. I was surprised when I noticed there's no way to install a VPN but it appears that will change with TVos 17. My question is, when will VPNs be added to the Beta program?
I hope that's not the case---I need it for sports and some other items. Plus I don't like my ISP knowing the sites I' going on.Based on what I read, upcoming VPN support allows the ATV to access private and corporate networks rather than geo-locked content.

The Apple TV has allowed manual selection of a DNS server for a while. Getflix, Iron Socket, and dns4me are popular services.I wonder if I can connect through a DNS server as stated on ExPress VPN's website? However, I have Nord VPN and a Deco M5 mesh system:

Yup, it could go either way until Apple actually makes the feature available to the end user and developers. We don’t know this for sure yet.
NordVPN said they are looking into it…
If there is a macOS app from Nord, you can use it.Hello everyone, I was a Windows user, but a month ago I decided to buy a MacBook Pro 13. I used NordVPN for Windows, can you tell me if I can continue to use this VPN? Can you recommend something, I'm just new to all Apple technology I don't understand how everything works.
Neah, I don't think they will block it for streaming a different region. I don't see how this would be possible.
Thank you for your replyIf there is a macOS app from Nord, you can use it.
Even if Apple don't limit anything on the OS side most streaming platforms these days blacklist IPs from VPNs.
You need to run the VPN on a separate router and connect the AppleTV to the router.Okay. So I’m experimenting with Apple TV 4K. I have a Hisense Android smart tv. The android TV portion has an Ethernet input so I hooked up the Apple TV box via Ethernet and it appears to run through the wifi of the TV which runs through Nord VPN. How do I know for sure this set up is working as it seems?
Edit—-never mind. Not working
Sadly my Deco mesh system will not support a VPN. I’ll just wait at this point and watch sports on the FirestickYou need to run the VPN on a separate router and connect the AppleTV to the router.
You can use a DNS service on the ATV to watch geo-locked content.Sadly my Deco mesh system will not support a VPN. I’ll just wait at this point and watch sports on the Firestick
How do I become an app tester like I am for IOS/Macos?Testing FlowVPN beta for AppleTV at the moment (available in TestFlight), I think it's the only client for AppleTV (tvOS 17) available at the moment. It seems to be working as intended, thus no limitations thus far.
Apple has to strike a delicate balance between making users happy and keeping content producers happy. I really doubt this is going to allow you to watch stuff like Netflix in another region.
Might be again some Apple bulls**t

“We are concerned that there may be some limitations for consumer VPN products and the update will only benefit B2B VPN solutions,” NordVPN PR Manager Egidijus Jurgelionis wrote in an email to The Verge, “If not, our users will be able to use NordVPN on their Apple TVs sometime in the nearest future.”
