When do early adopters stop being early adopters and just "On-time" adopters. Or maybe just adopters?

I would say for most products, that generation 2 is when you are just a user, and no longer an early adopter.

For the first time in my life, I'm jealous of people in Australia. I still have to wait at least 9 hours for my watch to be delivered #

Actually I'm kidding. Australia is a lovely country and I'm always jealous....

But I still have to wait 9 hours minimum. So I'm jealous.

When you look at the evolution of the iPhone from the original to the 3G to the 4, the 5 and the 6 (ignoring the intermediate models), there is plenty of scope for the Apple Watch to evolve for many years to come. Rev 2 is going to look just as antiquated as Rev 1 by the time we get to Rev 4 or 5. That's why I'm throwing my hat into the ring now and getting a Sport model so that by the time a really nice Apple Watch equivalent of the iPhone 6 comes out, I'll feel much more confident of buying a Steel model. As a non-watch wearer just now, I'm a bit concerned that it might not be for me although I'm confident that I'll like it a lot!

Hmm....:D

What you say makes since for hardware releases, but the question was in regards to people using devices, not the actual devices.

And I agree with you about the fit and finish of the watch. Back in sept when we watched the keynote here at work, the first thing I said at the end of the keynote was "I can't wait for generation 3!"

With that said I'll definitely be picking up a used Generation 1 model on eBay in a few months when they flood the used market. That should hold me to Gen 3 when they really have the device in a polished state.

As if the prices will drop in a "few months"..

Yes that too, but being glad you chose the Apple Watch for its packaging is funny. Or at least that's what I got from reading his post.

No. It explains this picture. But I ordered the SS for the sapphire and stainless steel, as well as the band options.

I didn't chose it for it's packaging, but I'm glad it's nicer. For a $200 premium, a few dollars invested in the packaging is a good thing.

38mm SS Black Sports Band. Delivers tomorrow, April 24. :D

Wow

All I can say is I am happy for the people that ordered them, but geez, that thing is pretty ugly. I myself am still on the fence, but looking at this I am not thinking about jumping off yet.:apple:

Gratz to those getting their early :)

For anyone else interested,

42mm SS BSB/ 3:06am EST confirmation/ EOD

Still processing.

Really looking forward to tomorrow/this weekend for all the actual user reviews of the Watch. I'm kind of anxious about the reports of lag in the UI and delays in pulling data from the iPhone - I definitely feel better when it's consumers pointing out these problems (or lack thereof) than professional reviewers, who seem predisposed to mix not-too-critical comments, to show they're not totally Apple-biased, with an otherwise glowing review. Not that I don't trust the reviews of CNET, the New York Times, et al., but they have to ensure they don't fall on Apple's crap list and can continue to get their products early to review.
