They also have spiders that eat snakes and plants that if they made contact with your skin, the sensation can only be described as being electrocuted.

In Aus, you will find that most of those spiders have been killed by the crocs (great to watch them fight tho). And the stinger plants have all been eaten by the dropbears.

Australia is a great country. I'll hear no criticism.

They were the first country on earth outside of Sweden to recognize the greatness of ABBA!

Aussies founded the Hash House Harriers! I ran around Hong Kong with them around 1970, completely pointless, and then got drunk on Foster's beer in the summer heat.

It doesn't get any better than that...#

do we really care about the packaging??? I wouldn't care if the UPS driver was wearing it when he delivered it ... i just wish it was here already! :D

Yes, we do. This is one of many reasons that Apple succeed - THAT they care, even about the things which many other people think are insignificant. Those people, who think packaging doesn't matter, or have the "it'll do" mentality, are why THEY are missing the point, and why Apple gets it and gets to be THE top tech company, bar none.

i disagree. i think the majority of people throw out the packaging.

Watch buyers do not throw out the packaging. As far as Apple stuff in general. I think we hang on to the packaging more then most. It helps resale and is generally just very nice looking.

I think we'll be waiting until 2016 for any Aussies to upload "unboxing" videos, judging by how pathetic Australian ADSL speeds are...

The bad news is that, early Space Gray buyers are out of luck on Day 1. All still 'Processing...'.

Angela Ahrendts has a lot to answer for!

Really... Do you think she's head of manufacturing and making watches in her basement in her spare time? Neither of these is true BTW.

Umm I care what the ups driver was wearing. If it's not a brown uniform then he's not a real ups man!

I just hope he wear pants, the last UPS guy without pants was disturbing to my cat (who swear to me that this happened ;-)

My watch will see its packaging two times: it's current state until I open it tomorrow. The second time will be when I sell it to upgrade. As long as it's durable enough for those two events, I could care less how good or cool it looks.

And I liked the one guy who justified $40 of the money he spent on upgraded packaging that he hasn't seen.

Shhhewwww. I'm glad you said your cat and not your 'kitty'

And Red Roos stomp on everyone's head like MMA fighters with their big fat legs ;-). I wear a helmet when I go down there for that reason alone.

I just can't seem to throw out the packaging for Apple products. I think it's a fetish of mine ...

Actually, she is the head of retailing, hence is responsible for the retail rollout and communications with customers. Throwing a 2 weeks window is pretty poor form, and then the poor communication to the Space Gray buyers. Her group should know the customer preferences and should have anticipated the shortage of SG units. As such, should have communicated appropriately rather than a last minute email. Sorry, the ball is in her court.

This is absolute crap. I mean seriously, I ordered a SG Sport exactly at zero hour and have had nothing but that crappy email. I understand i ordered the most popular model but this is ridiculous. Whats the point of pre-ordering.

To double your money on eBay if you get yours before most others do.

No it is not. You can be sure that she wanted to have that watch in a number of stores on launch day. She is at the end of a long value chain and is entirely dependent on production to plan where the watch will be available. Last minute changes and extremely unpredictable demand might have made it necessary to change the retail launch strategy a number of times.

It's amazing how people always think it is easy to launch a product simultaneously in the biggest Apple market. Have you ever considered what an incredible feat of planning it is to even have the majority of watches that are available and produced on the doorstep of many customers on launch day? You can be sure that there is not a smooth Apple manual for product launches like this. This is new territory for them also with a new product category aimed at a relatively new market. Hiccups are bound to happen and communication is never perfect. It's testament to the quality that Apple provides that we have such high expectations of them.

Australia Update Request

Hi Guys. Still waiting on some sort of confirmation of delivery.

They have a pending charge with my bank but the money has not left my account.

I pre-ordered at zero hour but have not been given any sort of shipping information or updates.

Is there anyone in East Coast, Queensland, Australia who has received theirs? Or possibly even an update?

Wanting this delivery bad.... :D
