Memoji definitively replaces Emoji. Infinitely customizable memoji are inclusive and replace the endless emoji that have to be added for each person and their individuality.

I already use Animoji stickers for expressions instead of Emoji. This will expand that capability enormously. Now, just add a better Emoji picker for objects/foods integrated into the Animoji UI. Add a single smiley face Animoji that you customize with expression detection and that cuts down on the fast growing mess of Emoji being added with each new iOS release.

What about the HomePod? Do the "Siri Shortcuts" already work without having to update it? Or do we need to do something to update the homepod as well?

When someone gets this installed, can you take a look at the music app and report back? I was really hoping for a Music app revamp and Music wasn't mentioned at all today. I'm hoping for something more like the iOS 9 music app with the Loved icons being on the now playing and lock screen ... not buried.

Personally so excited for this release. I’m seeing big improvements in key areas (performance, Siri) and a surprising number of extra features and enhancements too. Not many huge features this year, but lots of really nice little ones!

Still working on the install but I can bet you they will not go backwards to an iOS9 design.

You do know that the new Emoji are part of the Unicode standard, right?

I do. It doesn’t mean that Apple can’t produce better ways for users to express themselves. That’s exactly what they’re doing with Animoji and Mimoji.

The problem with Emoji is that their number is growing so much that it’s unwieldy to find the one you want.

By providing a simplified selection, iOS users can far more easily find what they want to convey. Select the character out of a dozen instead of hundreds, make the face, tap it to send. Done.

Waiting to see if there are any goodies that weren't mentioned in the Keynote......

I guess darkmode will be next year for sure, now that they are running it on Mac OS.... Or perhaps a 12.1 or 12.2 update to give developers time to prepare for it.

Well I enjoyed the Keynote.

I usually am not brave enough to dabble in the developer betas, but I will be all over the public beta on my main device :D

I am really excited for 3rd party maps in CarPlay, but the issue will be like 3rd party music. Voice commands will only work with the Apple apps :( Trying to use Amazon music in my car is more of a distraction.

Looking at how few new features got announced for iOS 12 it just goes to show that Apple is really putting all the effort and focus on performance, stability and quality with this release. I'm really eager to see what we will get out of it. iOS is by no doubt the most important OS Apple is currently developing and it properly has the largest team behind it so the fact that this release have so few new features should mean that they are really pushing the focus towards optimisation this time around.

I'm dumbfounded by their obsession with animojis and the like. Those poor developers, having to sit through that.
I also feel their presentation style needs an overhaul. They feel stale and dated.

Have you ever seen the competitors keynotes?!
I though that massive screen behind them was awesome....I want that as my TV!!
