I usually am not brave enough to dabble in the developer betas, but I will be all over the public beta on my main device :D

I am really excited for 3rd party maps in CarPlay, but the issue will be like 3rd party music. Voice commands will only work with the Apple apps :( Trying to use Amazon music in my car is more of a distraction.
Add to that to apps using CarPlay and new API’s/features aren’t allowed into the App Store until iOS 12 releases, I’ll be counting the days until we get to try Google Maps in the car.

I'll upgrade to it when it drops and play with it for a few weeks before I get my Pixel 3 XL or Note 9 (still haven't decided)

Why the pink faced emoji granny? lol.. anyways no matter how many changes under the hood happens, it's not like all users are super technical to understand that. Typical users like some fancy new feature at least one of them. The animoji was one such thing. Hope they have something this time too.

It looks like fun for normals, so the haters gotta despise it.

I'm dumbfounded by their obsession with animojis and the like. Those poor developers, having to sit through that.
I also feel their presentation style needs an overhaul. They feel stale and dated.
First of all this keynote is mostly for the public. The State of the Union keynote later today is for developers. Second the #5 and #9 free apps in the AppStore right are Snapchat and Bitmoji. It’s a complete nobrainer that Apple focused on this. In fact I think they should buy Bitmoji and integrate it.

You can now just swipe up to close an application from app switcher, instead of long pressing first.

iPhone X
Thank god!

I'm also hoping they changed the UI of the Volume Notifier and just failed to mention it during the keynote. :fingers crossed:

Unfortunately they did not. I also can't find the Shortcuts app, can't remember if they said it would be included in the beta.

EDIT: Found it, it's in the Settings app under Siri & Search

When someone gets this installed, can you take a look at the music app and report back? I was really hoping for a Music app revamp and Music wasn't mentioned at all today. I'm hoping for something more like the iOS 9 music app with the Loved icons being on the now playing and lock screen ... not buried.

Looks and functions exactly the same as ios11
