Another reference to "Apple apologists ", just another downplaying post about Apple by you...If true... this rumors dashes all chances of an exciting new iPhone. It's more of the slab shaped, cheap to make form factor. Hardly an inspiring design. About as generic as they come and too much like the old ones. Just think, if the economy softens like predicted, it'll be hard to justify Apple's price for more of the same. A mistake Apple's in denial about.
Just wait, the Apple apologists are sure to come along to regurgitate the obvious and brag about how fat and happy Apple is. That in itself could eventually bite them in the seat of their big boy pants.![]()
The smartphone is now a mature product and it's doubtful we will ever see the big leap forwards in technology and design that we were getting a few years ago. I feel like Samsung does a good job changing the design. Even simple things like adding an EDGE.
For me personally it will take a killer feature if the design is the same. I'm highly considering this rumored 4" phone.
Unless he "let it fly" from beyond the grave, Steve never would have allowed it. I think you need to go back and fact-check his date of death and when Apple released protruding cameras in the iPod Touch. Then please post your results. Thankssss.
If only you could have read the next sentence."The other significant change with the body of the iPhone 7 is the removal of antenna bands across the rear, "
Did Macrumors upload the wrong photo? I clearly see the antenna bands across the back. There's less of them, but it still has the bands.
The other significant change with the body of the iPhone 7 is the removal of antenna bands across the rear, allowing for a cleaner all-metal look on the back. Antenna bands at the sides and around the top and bottom edges are said to remain, however.
My favorite design was the iPhone 5 Slate Black. It was so stealth and sleek. If I could ditch the home button on that phone to make room for a 4,7 inch screen, that would be my dream design and color for iPhone 7.
Never really warmed up to the rounded sides of the 6 models. Miss the 4 and 5's flat edges.
I understand your logic, but we see this differently. I've never used a case on my iPhones, or my watch, or car for that matter. My car for example, has much more noticeable wear and tear than my phone does. Mostly door dings and Marks from road debris.
The iPhone was not designed to put in a case. These devices are meticulously designed with every detail in mind, this includes the form and feel of the device.
Putting a case or even a screen protector on your iPhone, takes away a part of what it is. It's the same to me as putting plastic on your furniture, covering a steak in steak sauce, deep frying morels, or not removing the plastic film on your monitor bezel "to keep it nice".
OP's comparison was about ruining the aesthetic by covering it with a case, something that's viewed as absurd with anything else beside a phone. I pointed out that it's true, and you confirmed.
[doublepost=1454628542][/doublepost]Well for the people like me that use the phone naked, yes is the matter of looking good, and that camera sometimes is a problem when you put your phone in a pocket.Does the protruding camera really bother that many people? I mean I guess I'm not bothered by it because my phone is always in a case, but still
Same for antenna bands really
Yes it came out afterbut such models are developed for a couple of years before being released. Hell, even iPhone 5's design was under steve's supervision, even though he died right after iPhone 4S announcement.
YES!! PLEASE! I loved the way the 5s looked and felt, the only reason I got the 6 was for the bigger screen otherwise I would still be using my 5s.I would like to see straight edges like the 5S.
Sorry to hear you are unable to look after your car, maybe you need to get a case for it..?
Eh.? So the Apple designed case, released on launch day was an after thought? In any 'case' how much time can you spend admiring the 'meticulous design'?
1. When you use it as a phone it is at your ear.
2. When you are using it as a device you are looking at the screen.
3. When you are not using it is in your pocket, or face up on the table, or whatever.
You are either just being silly, or pretentious. Either way, you are wrong about the phone / case.
Eh..? And I thought the analogies could not get any worse. An Apple designed iPhone case is not the same as transit packaging and steak sauce. Are you just trolling..?
Eh...? That is irrelevant as my post was in relation to the OP saying "its like putting a case on a watch, or putting those ugly bumper things on cars". Go read it again.
Also there is nothing in my posts that confirmed anything of the sort regarding your nonsense post, other than exposing what appears to be the infancy of a very poor strawman argument.
Good luck with that. However, I always bow out when the straw starts flying.
You forgot Jony Ive.You forgot the "No one said ever".
The polls I've read over the past few years range from 65% to 75%. I, on the other hand, don't use a case, and I truly hate the camera wart.Agreed! I am happy with the battery life on the 6s+ but I would still take more battery over an even thinner design.
On a related topic, I would LOVE to know what % of iPhone users carry their phone in a case? All the fuss over antenna bands, protruding cameras, and shaving a 1/2 mm off the design really doesn't mean much if you are going to carry the phone in a case.
Ok bro. Your defensive response was confirmation. Like I said, we see this differently, I'm sorry if that hurts your feelings.
You forgot Jony Ive.

Which is thinner - a 3GS in a case or a 6S in a case?
Don't know why people complain about the visible wireless lines. First thing anyone does when they get a new phone is put it in a protective case.
