YES!! PLEASE! I loved the way the 5s looked and felt, the only reason I got the 6 was for the bigger screen otherwise I would still be using my 5s.

I'm in the same boat. Can't wait for some leaked schematics to confirm they have ditched the rounded shapes for the 7. But then again they kept the boxy look for four years with the 4/4s and 5/5s models, so I'm not too optimistic honestly. We might have another 2 years with a 6 type design. :(

I upgraded from 6 Plus to 6S Plus and have actually liked the small amount of added weight. It makes the phone feel more substantial in my hand, at least to me, and I find I drop it less frequently than the lighter 6 Plus which tended to flip out of my grip.

The most compelling feature for me is elimination/reduction of the huge bezels for a smaller footprint with the same screen size. The Plus's footprint is huge but I won't go backwards on screen size. My 6S Plus does everything I could possibly want it to do at this point with excellent performance and snappy speed; my only gripe is that it's just a little huge in the hand for the screen size. Android makes a number of phones with similar or even larger screens and smaller overall size so it is definitely doable now. I won't upgrade again until they reduce the footprint. And that's coming from someone who has upgraded every year from my original iPhone 4.

The only way to make such a large phone comfortable is to round off the edges.
I quite like the design of the 6. It feels a lot slimmer than the 6s( and it is only 0.2mm thicker!) an lighter. I hope iphone 7 returns to iphone 6 thickness or less. For the iphone 7:
Would love to see an almost free of bezel iphone 6 like the oppo, and smaller chins, thinner, different metallic material, less lines on the back, flush camera.
For the 7+ i would like to see the physical homebutton removed, small bezels, etc.

I always liked the design of the Sony Xperia Compact line. The newest version has a fingerprint sensor in the on/off button on the side. If Apple did the same they could cut down the size of the 7 by simply removing the top and bottom bezels altogether. The Plus model would really benefit the most. The compact z5 also has the 4,7 inch screen, and flat sides, too bad it doesn't run iOS:cool:

IMHO the 6 / 6+ rounded edges are the worst of Apple's iPhone designs. It's slippery and extremely difficult to hold onto. I recently sold my 5s, and when I picked it up I was amazed at how comfortable it was in my hand. The 6 and 6+ are ergonomic failures. Nothing was gained. The display edge to phone edge is actually greater in the 6's over the 5's, only masked by a color change in chassis.

I use my 6S+ with one hand without a case with no issues. It definitely doesn't feel like the slippery bar of soap some posters here are making it out to be.

Apple's new tagline: Why innovate when we can regurgitate?
You don't know Apple then. Apple has always been about getting a great idea or design out there, then constantly iterating on it. Only in your crazy dreams has Apple been some tech messiah who has consistently released revolutionary product after revolutionary product every few weeks. No company can sustain that sort of product release cycle, regardless of how rich they are or how talented their staff are.

Instead, Apple has always been about going the distance and focusing on the really minute and incremental improvements in their products. The sort of details which their competition normally wouldn't bother with. But these incremental improvements matter to Apple's customer base. That's why we are Apple consumers, and that's why we are willing to shell out good money for incremental changes which other companies won't bother or even pay attention to, like making sure their ports at the bottom of the phone line up properly.

The iPhone 2g, 3g and 3gs all used the same form factor. As did the iPhone 4 to 5s (more or less the same oblong shape). I won't be surprised to see the iPhone 7 and 7s' design be derived from the iPhone 6, with Apple toiling tirelessly away to finally do away with the protruding camera and antennae bands purely out of principle alone.

Apple hasn't changed. I can predict the next iPhone 7 already. Better display quality. Faster processor. Better camera. Possibly improved Touch-ID, maybe better Force Touch sensors as well. 1 or 2 other new hardware features (maybe wireless charging). None of these improvements are revolutionary or game-changing in itself, but together, they comprise a solid list of improvements nevertheless, and the sales figures will show that consumers agree with this sentiment as well.

Totally agree with this, i keep seeing the same messages that have floated around for years "Apple is doomed" "Apple isn't innovating anymore" "Steve Jobs was Apple" it makes me laugh because since Steve Jobs has been gone, Apple has grown from strength to strength. Are they perfect, no, no company is but sale figures speak for themselves and millions of people are voting with their wallets, buying iPhones, Mac's, iPads and so on. I don't think all of this is coming from a company that is failing.

Some people seem shocked that the iPhone 7 may resemble the iPhone 6 in form factor, but what else can they do, it's not like they can make a round phone. Also why fix something that isn't broken? the shape of the iPhone 6 is great (in my opinion and millions of others who continue to buy the phones). As you say, Apple will probably perfect it even more, maybe make it thinner? add a dual camera to improve it? probably make 3D touch even better (Multi 3D Touch is something that's floating around as a rumour). Even if the 7 is a small incremental update i bet people will still buy it and the 7 will go on to beat sales records just like the 6S did and the 6 before it.

Not defensive at all and 'no feelings were hurt during this thread'. I was just clarifying your misunderstanding. However you appear to remain confused.

Everything I said makes sense if you aren't hell bent on 'winning'. I was attempting rational discussion. I could explain but you would rather be insulting and snarky. I don't have time to argue with you for Internet points. Have a great day.

I would love this design for the iphone 7 plus, only the front. Imagine this front , with the iphone 6s+ rounded alu back, without the camera sticking out, without the antenna lines, slightly thinner.

No homebutton on the 7+, just screen, homebutton by 3d touch/forcetouch.

It's called brand recognition, that's why Apple continued to have such strong sales even if the quality of the products haven't been what they used to be. But even Apple has admitted that iPhone sales have peaked. Will we see a repeat of the 90s? Not right now but maybe at some point down the road but since they have so much money now, they have to continue on the path of developing and releasing subpar and half-baked products which they are currently on. As long as Tim Cook is CEO, they'll settle for the bottom line. The magic is running out and unless Apple can get that Steve Jobs mojo back, midnight might be here sooner than we think.

Steve Jobs was the heart and soul of Apple, Tim Cook is John Sculley 2.0

There problem is we've reached a wall. there is literally no reason to upgrade your current iphone unless it is really slow and/or lacks essential features. Apple making the phone thinner, removing the headphone jack, adding an extra camera sensor, and having minor aesthetic changes, a slightly better screen, no improvement in battery life, a slightly faster processor, etc. who needs them? If you have a good phone that takes good enough pictures (barring DSL quality), has no worse battery life than future iterations, is fluid enough in daily operations, has a headphone jack, has a fingerprint scanner, (possibly) 3D touch, has a good screen etc. why drop $600+ on a new phone? There are far better ways to spend your disposable income

everything depends on whether the home button remains at the front of the phone. maybe reduce its size by half would be the way to go

I wish Apple and everyone else would concentrate on improving the battery instead of making the phone thinner and thinner. You should be able to get a full 12 hours of video viewing, 24 hours talk time or 30 day standby time on a full charge. It is about time they come up with new battery technology. If they can send man to moon I am sure they can come up with something.

They definitely can, it's just Apple prefers thinness, the iPhone 7 will be very telling IF the rumour of the headphone jack removal is true, Apple may make the 7 even thinner over putting in more battery. Or if the latest rumour is to be believed they may add another speaker.

I get good battery-time on my 6s, lasts throughout the day, I usually have 40% left. So I don' t get all the complaints about the battery. For me it is enough. If you want more battery, get the plus. Or get an android, or don' t get an android or the plus . but then you should get a battery case for the 6(s).
This is Apple , they have gone thinner and thinner for the last decades.

I hope apple has something in store for us with the 7+.
I really like the screensize of the 6+
But it is too big.
Give us a on screen homebutton by 3d touch/forcetouch and slim the bezels down.
And give as a better screen and camera, at the same levels as the samsung s6, and i am all-in.
But give us a 5,5 inch iphone 7+ that' s a little bit wider than the current 6s, but has the same height.
That would be the only reason for me too upgrade from my 6s.
And create a 4.7 regular 7 that is a little bit bigger than the 5s, so they don' t have too release another 4 inch phone anymore. Although some people will keep on whining about the lack of a new 3.5 inch iphone and a replacement for the " fantastic" looking 4s, some people just can' t handle change very well.

What good is a thinner, lighter phone if you are just going to put one of those huge, heavy cases on it? Makes absolutely no sense to me.
Have you only just realised that nothing dumy Ever says makes.any sense at all. He's just a paid.shill for Apple, a funny one granted. .

I like this design, though.
But fir the + get rid of the homebutton.

I certainly am jealous. To be able to augment my income by apple paying me post on an anonymous internet forum. What a concept!

Best Apple is doomed post yet. Bookmarked for future reference...

Analysts theory makes no sense since if the iphone7 has such minimal upgrades Apples sales are going to be minimal as well. While the iPhone 7S may hold better features the Iphone7 has to have some special features

Look at MacBook revisions. After a certain point the design gets finalized. I predict iPhone 7 sales will be a decline and I'm sure a lot of analysts do as well.
