Is that with True Tone on or off? Without True Tone, the whites should be more neutral.
Both True Tone & night shift off @ max brightness. #ffffff image zoomed in and there’s a clear difference.

Just a bit confused. Really well made phone otherwise so bit of a frustrating issue.

I’ve done a temporary workaround with Color Filters in accessibility settings ... until Apple Stores reopen in the UK where I can test against a display unit and return if needed.

That didn't take too long. My mini sucked up all the data from my old iPhone 8. It took about a half-hour total to get everything set up. I'm really impressed with FaceID; it's extremely fast. It'll be interesting to see if I can still use Apple Pay. I tried putting on a mask and that does kill FaceID. So Apple Pay will be a bit more tedious because I'll have to enter my passcode for any transaction in a store.

that's been true all along (no faceid with a mask); a nuisance in stores (but it is what it is). took 20 minutes for my XS to transfer to the mini (then some time for all my non-apple apps to download to the new phone).

but the phone-to-phone thing is nice, first time i've used it.

Got my silver 12 Pro Max and the setup was mostly painless, upgrading from my 11PM.

One thing I notice on my home screen is how there is more unused space towards the bottom of the screen. I like having blank space on the screen, but I think Apple could have given the option more equally spread app icons out. I do really dig the square edge design, something I have missed since the iPhone 4 and 5, which were my favorites. Seeing the 12PM next to my old 11PM, the 12 just feels modern, even though it is taking cues from the past.

the 12 Pro Max is really big and thanks to the sharp edges more difficult to grab than the 11 Pro Max.
Still I am happy with my choice - the mini has some charm, but more as a secondary phone.

Just added a size comparison 11 vs 12 ...
(it seems the 11 is brighter than the 12)

My OCD is making my skin crawl at that many unanswered / actioned notifications. Do something please :)

Mine is really yellow.

Haven't fully set up mine yet but it appears to be really yellow.
I just got my iPhone 12 Pro Max and I notice it has the same yellow. I’m upgrading from a iPhone XS Max and there is a huge difference. I noticed while transferring my data. I hope they can fix this

I have the 12 Pro Max and XS Max side-by-side right now. Surprising the Pro Max is a bit taller and wider, but its not too big for it. You can definitely tell there is a bit more screen to it, but I like it. 6.7" makes it feel like an upgrade instead of just the same 6.5" screen.
Excellent! Thank you! I’m still debating upgrading! How’s the camera? Comparing to the XS Max?

I'm having trouble getting 5G to work and I'm in a big 5G area. And in my bedroom I drop to 4G when I used to have LTE all the time. I'm on hold for customer service to see if there's a problem.

MacRumors reader pinchies said that the size is nice and allows for one-handed typing, but getting to Control Center still "requires a hand shuffle".

😯😂

12 Pro Max just arrived and it does feel heavier - or perhaps more "dense" - than my 11 Pro Max. Camera bump is larger and it is thicker.
Exactly my impression (same upgrade path).

I feel Apple have cheated a bit here: specs claim the 12PM is slightly thinner than 11PM and I was looking fwd to that. Yet the camera bump is noticeably thicker, probably to accomodate the improved optics/LIDAR etc.

I have both with Apple’s clear case and - since it has to fit that bump, the 12PM is really noticeably thicker than the 11PM, to the point that it feels a bit like a brick. At this point, the 11PM feels more comfortable to me...

My buddy just got a 12 Pro and the square edges make it much nicer to hold. Otherwise, it looks identical in every way but a slightly bigger display. Only thing I noticed that looks bad is the stainless on his graphite looks chromed. Makes it look cheaper than the SS on the X to 11 Pros.

I had a chance to check out the Max today and I was all like holy cow it’s a big phone. Cheers to everyone who got the Max but very happy my 12 pro.

I have to agree with most the mini feels so natural in the hand, I’m coming from the XS Max and it’s so much nice to hold, no problem with the keyboard either.

Can you not fill the unused space with widgets etc?

Waiting on my Max delivery today.

I'm still waiting for the UPS truck to arrive. "Delivery by 9:00 pm" is about as accurate as they get.

EDIT: Right after I wrote this, my mini arrived! The blue is really nice. And yes, the screws are silver. The screen on the mini feels "stickier"; my finger doesn't slide as easily across it. Here's a size comparison with my iPhone 8. It's noticeably narrower and is much more comfortable to hold:

I generally get that “sticky screen” feeling with all new Apple touchscreens.

I am having the same experience with the apple silicon case. This phone is heavy and big and I am coming from an 11PM, I am seriously considering exchanging this for a pro and taking the loss of battery life.

I wish they didn't anodize the aluminum sides on the Mini. That coloring is going to get scratched up quickly. It should have just been kept silver.

I have the Xs Max and the 12 pro Max side by side. There is definitely a slight yellow tint /warmer display color compared to the Xs Max. The Xs Max looks more true to white than what the 12 Pro Max does.

is this normal?

The "sticky" screen will slowly pass since it's coated in oleophobic coating
