Found UI snappy enough, but the parallax wallpaper effect was pointless fluff and the app-launching/folder opening zooms are just tedious (wish they could be disabled too).

Multipage folders? Nice, but 9 icons per folder 'page' just plays havoc with my established 16 icon layouts. Now left hunting for stuff on the new additional pages, and the wallpaper dependent folder colors add to the sense of distraction.

Detest calendar app - cant default to list view anymore now need to hit search and can no longer add an event while in list view!

Quality of the voice over on apple maps is awful (pity anyone who has to listen to it on headphones)

Find my i-phone still has some hideous wood effect texture in its map view, yet Maps app itself doesn't feature it. 0 out of ten for consistency there.

Little image beside each favourite in contacts is nice, but the details screen for contacts is just too plain and devoid of features - sure it *looks* prettier than the old one, but the contact fields just seem to blend into one mass of information

The phone dialer keypad is abominable (was never a fan of the changes to it in 6 but they've managed to make it even worse)

Last but not least why cant I configure control panel and alter the four baked in choices along the bottom of it... Torch and camera? great, but I'd find a toggle for personal hotspot a whole lot more useful than calculator or timer

not looking forward to installing on our ipads

Running it on a iphone 5, I like it. Although I do feel as if some of the icons are really bright, mainly the green ones. I dislike the changed to calendar and the notes app background bugs me as well as the font. Also for some reason I cannot sync any of my songs.

But aside from those complaints I really love the update and will be upgrading my ipad mini when I get home.

I don't get how people like this update... I feel like I am using a toy. The messages app is ATROCIOUS. I can't believe I waited for this, I should have downloaded a beta so I wouldn't have wasted my time updating this.

The old design was perfect, switching back and I won't miss a damn thing.

I have mixed feelings about it. Looks good, but sometimes it's too bright, and such bright colors with white don't mix too well. And sometimes it resembles me a toy. Or Windows 8 for the iPhone, due to the simplified icons and interface. And the system seems like a little bit slower than the previous one.

Situations with iOS7

Just a couple of situations I have noticed.

1. When I try to look for a contact directly from the phone app, it doesn't bring up the keyboard on the search menu, and I have not been able to figure it out.

2. When I try to erase an e-mail or a message or anything, now it doesn't let me do it by swiping it... I have to go to edit and choose... I think it's a hassle...

Besides that, I love the fact that I can bring up my calculator or the lantern just by swiping upwards or turning the airplane mode on or off like that...

I still have a lot to figure out though...

1. is a bug. It works everywhere but in the phone app. (4s here)

2. Check your mail settings, I can swipe and delete (exchange, iCloud and private domain)

I think it looks great on the iPhone. Horrible on the iPads, both Mini and regular size. I want to revert back but afraid of bricking my Mini.

You can't brick it going back. If Apple stop signing iOS 6 iTunes won't allow the restore. You'll need to manually point iTunes to the ipsw, which may be in your trash after iTunes downloaded iOS 7's ipsw. If not, head to FelixBruns to download iOS 6 for your device and hold option (shift on windows) and click on Restore. Manually browse to your iOS 6 ipsw and iTunes will restore as normal.

Just finished the download a few minutes ago, about 20 minutes altogether. Time to get acquainted now that I've taken the big step....

It's fine, however I don't like some of the changes in notification centre. I don't need to be told what today's date is because I can see it when looking at the calendar app and for the weather, you actually have to read it and you only get the current forecast instead of the weeks. I miss the weekly forecast and the pictures.

Also why do I need to know when my alarms are set for in the notification centre? such a complete waste of space. Isn't notification centre all about having quick access to the information you need and missed?

Loved it but correct me if I am wrong. Is there any sound when we open the screen ? When I close my screen I hear the echo click sound but not at the opening ? Anybody know why or something wrong in mine ?

Thnx

It's grown on me since Beta 1. I no longer mind the icons or color scheme. For times when it's too white, I set up Settings > General > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut > Invert Colors .. now tripple-click the home button for a white text on a black screen look. Very nice, though I told Apple, it should only invert the UI, not images! Make a night mode! They closed it as a duplicate issue. Alien Blue (Reddit App) has a great example of what a good night mode should be. Here's hoping they will add one.

I turned on "bold text" in Accessibility but later turned it off. I got used to the slightly thinner font (they are not using as thin of a font as Beta 1 anymore).

I turned on "Reduce Motion" in Accessibility. It deactivates parralax backgrounds, which I found to be VERY poorly implemented, horribly so. I may turn them back on if Apple ever manages to fix this. Maybe they work a lot better with the M7 processor.

To fix battery drain: I deactivated background app refresh and several of the tracking things hidden in Settings > Privacy > Location Services > (scroll to bottom) System Services > such as "Popular Near Me" and "Diagnostics and Usage" and "Location-Based iAds", etc. I also deactivated push in all my mail accounts and set them to fetch only when I open Mail. After that my battery seems better but still, time for a new battery on my old 4S.

The Control Center is awesome. I love the flashlight option. Timer shows on lock screen which is very cool. Much else is improved. Interface is a bit laggy still on the 4S and I hate the new Safari address bar lag! But my apps all still work great including music programs and games, none of them seem slower. That's impressive.

This still feels kinda beta-y, but I hated it at first and now I'm quite fond. Give yourself a few weeks with it and you won't wanna go back, trust me. Turning off a lotta the bells and whistles really helps on the 4S to make it usable.

So you have to invert the luma to read text your phone, but other that it's not that bad? Are you kidding!??!

Before hitting reply to this thread, breathe for a second and ponder this: "how resistant to change am I?"

I honestly don't think I am ... I love all things new! But, way back when (can't remember what iOS iteration it was) I saw that gorgeous dock, I was enchanted silly I know, but it started me on a love affair with Apple stuff.

I truly detest the new dock. It is just a blob with big icons that covers my wallpapers I have gathered for years. And I'm disappointed.

The rest of the changes are good, if juvenile looking. I will leave 7 on my Mini but won't put it on my iPad 3.

Resistant to change....hmmm maybe

But I'm seriously getting to dislike

Bright green
Bright orange
Bright yellow
Bright blue

Christ let me out

I love everything about it. I didn't like the "pastel" color to some of the icons at first, but I'm used to it now, and It doesn't bother me. I actually kind of like the color overall.

The functionality is great! Notification center has most of the things I need to access quickly. I can see my data usage by app.

Only thing I want to double click to always show my "Music", option to select which settings are added to notification center, larger screen, and "unified mailbox" so my mail ACTUALLY syncs across devices.
