The app store is slowly turning adults into infants.
Surely the CPU power of iPhone today could be put to better use.
That's starting to be a point, isn't it..?
When do you really need the power of a A10 in a phone nowadays? Sure, faster is better etc. and it sets up a ton of possibilities, but it seems that power isn't used much by many apps ATM.

Actually this is great. My girlfriend and I use this technique to make decisions at times. Now when we're both at work we can decide who's word is last on what's for dinner or what we're doing on the weekend.
You should look into keysofanxiety's farting app with Morse code. That will really boost relationship levels.

What is infantile about developers creating apps, in hopes that they can gain a paid following with some of the iPhone users?

Just because some adults may use apps that you would find demeaning etc. that doesn't necessarily mean said adults are infantile.

There is nothing stopping you from using the iPhone to its fullest extent, given all that is available in the app store.

I know there are many here who consider the additions to Messages to be a bit of a gimmick. I was much in the same boat when watching the keynote.

However in retrospect, this is absolutely massive. iMessage is already a great application — essentially free texts/MMS/videos — but allowing third-party apps is going to be utterly huge and will really lock people into the ecosystem.

Yup, apps like Viber and WhatsApp will feel like "closed platform" chat apps after this. I just hope that sticker developers keep reasonable prices. Once Viber increased sticker prices above $0.99, I stopped buying. #VoteWithYourWallet

Ahead of the official launch of iOS 10 tomorrow, apps designed for the new operating system update have started hitting the iOS App Store, including those that will be available in the Messages App Store.

Rock-Paper-Scissors [Direct Link], for example, a Messages app that allows two people to play a classic game of Rock, Paper, Scissors right in Messages, is now in the App Store. It is not, however, showing up in the dedicated Messages App Store, which will presumably launch tomorrow. Other apps for Messages, like Snappy Browser, are also starting to become available.

$700 phones for this....

You're kidding, right?

Hmm, but do you use the fart noises for the actual morse code, or do you use more traditional electronic beeps, with the fart noises as more of an ambient background?
I would hope that for a cellphone of Apple's caliber, each letter would have a distinct fart sound, personally recorded with care and with respect to the artists that make iPhone great.
