For owners of a 13 pro max, there will absolutely be no reason to upgrade to a 14 max. No new soc, etc.
I am very curious at what price the 14 max will launch.
I have to admit, it does feel like the 14 Max was deliberately made to not appeal to owners of the 13 Pro Max. It’s not getting the hole punches, even though all 13 models got the smaller notch. It’s not getting a new SoC, even though all iPhones have gotten a new SoC in the past. If anything, it seems like a downgrade due to no 120Hz or telephoto. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised; after all, it’s not a direct successor.

Would look a lot better with the cameras flush. These bumps are really naff and make it look like very little effort has went into the design. I am sure no one would complain about a slightly thicker phone that has more battery life or better cooling.
Such a stupid take, slightly ticker phone means almost half a cm if you want it flush if these new models are correct (which is not slight and would feel comically chunky and old in the hand) and what everybody always seems to forget is that that larger battery or bigger cooling adds weight (and those are already one of the heaviest components in the phone) and an iPhone is already pushing what's comfortable weightwise.

I’m not too bothered what it looks to tbh as long as the camera is better than my 12 pro max and can actually focus on something, doesn’t have silly issues that go on for months like the 120hz Promotion on the 13 (not coming this time around it seems on the 14) and an unfinished glitchy OS which finally delivers on its promises announced in the initial WWDC more than 6 months later into its lifecycle.

The same way iPhone 5 prices shot up after iPhone 6? :D

With the iPhone SE 5G, the mini no longer serves a purpose as the entry level 5G iPhone. Good riddance.
No purpose? Where’s the good phone with FaceID that fits in a hand, then?

I don’t especially want a 10” iPad but I wouldn’t be looking for a party hat if it was discontinued.

The only design change I'd be interested in would be the change from stainless steel to titanium on the Pro models to make it lighter.

This truly cannot happen soon enough.

I know it'll probably bump up the iPhone's price, but this really is a significant upgrade worth that dollar and will actually change the way I would use my phone daily.

The first notable difference in the lineup is the lack of an iPhone mini model. iPhone sizes are changing in 2022, and Apple is eliminating the 5.4-inch iPhone as it turned out to be unpopular with customers.
Not with THIS customer. It's a shame that economies of scale determine product development. The mini might not have sold a bajillion units, but the people who like it REALLY like it. I wish that counted for something.

I don't think you understand how thick the camera bump actually is. With the 13 for example the bump is about 1/3 of the total thickness of the phone. With the camera flush the thickness on the rest of the phone would increase by 50%.

I think the elimination of the notch to the pill shape would get a few people to upgrade.

I don't understand why the camera bumps should be on the mold body at all. All we should see is the riser for the rounded square cutout.

You will only be against change until Apple can find a way to not compromise like this and we get flush cameras and a whole screw display with no notch.
