So how long til Video recorder/Voice Control coming to older iPhones?

I would assume since it's just a software limitation, someone will find a way around it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the newer SpringBoard.app or Voice.app or whatever it's called is transplantable onto a 2G/3G. I think the video might not work so well, unless it would behave just like Cycorder or something. Either way, I'd be interested! I'm not going to be upgrading, for obvious reasons.

It does look like one of the matte screen protectors. I hope the screen doesn't look pixelated, like the screen protectors do.

Yes the writing on the 3G S is chrome, matching the Apple logo
& The 3G writing was grey.

I have a feeling the protective (fingerprint prone) coating on the iPhone 3G S will prevent scratching of the chrome on back.

Esp. the back looks really... uhm... strange. Look at the other photos (there are 19) at the Chinese site:

Some strange reflections maybe. Or the material is difficult to photograph? Looks rather different that the "old" iPhone 3G. At the first glance I thought the phone must be in a silk bag or something because of the visible folds.

I always though the black iPhone 3G looked a little blue. And this one looks way warmer, but it could just be the lighting, see: 3G S left 3G right

To me, it doesn't make a difference if I'm going to use a case and front screen skin protection anyway.

I will be very interested to hear how well the compass works. I am sure the basics of an electronic compass are easy. Just seems like the multiple orientations of the phone might throw it off. Then again, I guess we all hold a compass down to check the direction. So maybe it works fine. Should make the GPS function way cooler.

Didn't they sat at the WWDC that Video recorder would work on 3G running OS 3.0 where as Voice Control would only work on 3GS?

its the same glass thats used on the unibody macbook pro's glass trackpad. it doesnt get fingerprints.

Yeah...it looks more like "satin" finish that the high gloss of the 3G...at least in these pictures.
