All I can say is "WOW!!" , Your making history Justin! Keep making the best of what you are doing Fun!

Hey, I like him.

He's made it onto the news and is supporting a company that I like with his time - and his enthusiasm. Some people have spent (wasted?) a week playing World of Warcraft, some working in a job they hate. This guy made it on the front page of MacRumors and has hundreds of comments discussing him; he made it onto the local news, and perhaps his adventure will garner him even more attention this week (MacBreak Weekly, perhaps, and/or MacWorld). And he's enjoying some sun on a nice summer week and hanging out with free wifi. Good for Justin!

Me and another user have been working on getting a separate website started just for this and for everyone to follow. Hopefully the site will go live tomorrow with less drama.

Let me know if you would like some help with your website, currently in school to get my masters degree in graphics and design.
I would love to help out in anyway I can, just let me know.

Maybe I missed it but he never said he was autistic.

I did not mean to call him autistic. I was talking about anyone with a disability which autism is a disability, his condition is a disability. That is what I meant and did not mean it in the sense which it came across as.

I like Justin and all but you can't say your gonna camp out for a week and then leave. Bathroom breaks of course are understood, but traveling to someone's apartment. This place could be miles away.

It's actually only a block away. He originally never intended to do this, but someone who lived nearby was nice enough to offer.

justin you say you are on unemployment right?

I don't recall him ever saying this.

Guess you missed the point. If I go on Thanksgiving to camp out for black friday. I get there early and am first, then after a while I leave an go eat thanksgiving dinner, was I still in line? Sure maybe the manager will high five me when I get back and keep my place as number one, but I wasn't actually there.

Have you ever camped out in a line such as this? Typically there's a bit of camaradarie that develops and people start holding each other's place in line while they go grab some dinner, go to the bathroom, etc... I think a 20-30 minute shower could easily fall into this same type of situation. You're making a big deal out of nothing.

Edit: Noticed you backed off after I had already typed this...leaving it here for posterity. :p

Sure news station, post the video of iPhone waiting Justin in flash. He can't watch his own video on his iPhone nor me on my iPad. Bastards.

LOL

Geckotek you rock.

Another Dallas guy here who couldn't get out of work but now that it's the weekend if you need anything Justin I'd be glad to run it by.

Don't really care about being a fanboy or the first in line but just seems like an awesome experience.

Thanks. But I feel a bit guilty, like I led the wolves to his front door by getting him to login and participate in the forum. The only way I feel I can make up for it is dropping by occasionally and supporting him in any way I can.

props to Justin. If I didn't have to work I might have camped out, and if I wasn't working I would drive to TX from KY just to be a part of this. Let the trolls/douches say their part but f them. Have fun man!

Thats the attitude. It would be awesome to get some guys together and camp out at stores, but some have work, some have other things to do. If only...

I hear ya, especially after following this forum for a while. Nonetheless, you were the first "champion" if you will. Beer, coffee, whatever, you're good for one in my book. And Justin too.

Yeah, I have never camped. It goes against my personal principals. I have never thought it was cool to wait as a customer to pay a company. This is not a personal attack against Justin. I appreciate how he feels about it being an adventure. I wish I could do an adventure like Justin. I wish I saw waiting in line as an adventure. My adventures require more needs that are easy for myself to come up with excuses for.

Why is this a sticky?

To make it easy to find, although it's what, 32-33 pages long?

I think mainly because it's an international story. Sort of like that 16-year-old girl who tried to sail around the world. A bit less risky, to be certain, but interesting (to certain people) nonetheless!

As a Dallas gal, I drove by early yesterday morning hoping to buy Justin a Frappuccino or something but I think he was on a bathroom break .

Anyway, I support this, I think it sounds like a fun adventure and I plan to drop by sometime and say hello!

just to add, im from the uk mate, but fair play to you!!!!! unfortunately if i did that here, id be mugged/stabbed or get my tent nicked! or id be arrested and sent to jail for life for obstruction health and safety pavement rules

massive respect that your so dedicated to the cause though mate :)

wonder if theyll sort you out with anything? shame they wouldnt loan you a 3g ipad to use!!!!!

Go Justin :) If he wants to do it, he's having fun and not hurting anyone, so what's the big deal? I also find all these arbitrary "camping rules" more than a bit silly.

Mostly though, I just wanted to post this, as it's the first thing I thought of when the talk of haters started. I love this clip.

Why is this 32 pages long? Why is this even news? Some loser trying to do a lame publicity stunt.

But anyway, fine, talk about it all you want, but I just don´t get why it is a sticky?

i cant believe how much hate there is on this site, particularly from you usa guys!!

noone believe anything unless there is specific evidence, people slate this guy, and why?

its his life/time/money!!!!!

its getting very similar in the uk now too, people feel the need to butt in on peoples lives when in reality their not forced to read this thread or go and join him.....

To read first post by jwagoner (camper): click here.

If that "Click here" is spam (maybe it isn't, but I see the poster is banned), could someone please remove the link? I'm not going to click on it. Thanks!

EDIT: I see it's the first post now, so it must actually be Justin's first post. Thanks MR mods!

I know it's long but please read the thread before posting. Someone already asked the exact same question and had a thorough answer. Namely because it's an interesting thread that is unusual.

Also, please refrain from negative comments that you wouldn't tell to Justin in person, because he is in the public if you want to talk to him...

some people are taking this way too seriously, its just a guy doing what he wants but some people seem to take it as some kind of insult, then come in with this whole 'jock mentality' (sorry if I used that term wrongly, I am from the UK and we don't use it over here :p), some people are coming in so self righteous when to be on this forum most of you must be pretty into tech/apple/etc and I would guess a lot are 'nerds' which others would consider 'sad and pathetic etc' as others have described Justin, sure Justin takes it to a bit of a extreme but I bet there are plenty of things that people could criticise in some people here.

bit hypocritical really, in the end its his life to live and to do with as he wants, if he gains enjoyment from it all the better to him, can't really fault a guy for just doing what he wants. so what if he is living up the publicity, in the apple world he must be becoming pretty well known which he seems pretty happy about. being a apple fan, its totally possible steve jobs has heard about him. for a fan of apple that would be a pretty big thing and Justin sounds like the kind of guy who something like that would be a huge thing for, if steve does do anything then I think that would make his day :p, there is no need for people to be so closed minded, in the end as his friend described him he just seems like a 'big eccentric nerd :D'

and it seems he has shown some of the worst and best of MacRumours :(

Thank you for posting the link to You Tube video. At work on my iPad and couldn't get the original clip *grumble grumble*
Justin...glad you are holding up and look forward to more about your adventure.
