oh wow, I pre-ordered mine later in the day and its already pushed back to Nov, guess they sold quite a few even in NZ

Germany, still no delivery dates for iPhone 7+, Vodafone carrier, I think that no Plus Models are shipped till next week. I wish the Day would start in my Timeline ^^

No to #2. Consumers will have 0 recourse for any scratches on the phone. Why? Apple clearly stated UP FRONT, that micro abrasions are inherent possibilities with that type of finish. Lastly, any scratches/scuffs would be a deeper incursion to the surface and not a flaw of design.

In short, people could try but it would be thrown out if it got that far.
Tiny text on a website doesn't preclude users from returning items or seeking damages. Items should be fit for purpose and durable.

One carrier told they ordered more stock than the last launch, but didn't receive the amount wanted. Some stock was "diverted", properly to the whiney upgrade buyers.

I am definitely regretting my decision to go with the Jet Black 7 now that I've had a better look at it in videos and reviews. Not only am I going to quite likely return it, but I have to wait an extra week just to get it in the first place. Lesson learned!

The Jet Black seemed like a bad decision the second I saw it. Would never have considered buying one. Apple have a habit of creating products that only look good for the period they're sitting in the box. You bring them out into the real world and suddenly they're showing dust like nothing else, they're grubby or scratched. The glossy finish on the Apple TV comes to mind too.

There won't be any sort of lawsuit. Apple have said it'll scratch easily.

If they didn't say anything on the other hand...

Apple said "micro abrasions".

Wouldn't call this micro anything. From the Verge review where he stated that his year old iPhone 6 looks newer than his 5 day jet black review phone

Exactly. Ridiculous product - especially considering anyone whom gives a damn about the device will have a cover on the phone which covers 60% of the device.

Besides that; anyone forgot about the iPhone 4/4S?! That was pretty Jet Black due to the Front/Back Glass on Black in my book. Most likely better built as well.

I wish they would also post contextual shots, that could have been shot with a macro lens and then cropped which will show microscopic details.

BTW, I went with the matte black because it is going to have a leather case on it anyway.

And watch it get 100x the media coverage that exploding Note 7s are even though they're actually causing injuries and destroying property.

Trust me, there will be morons buying the iPhone 7 to fake an exploding battery. The YouTube views will more than repay for the burned phone.

Why is Apple doing this, are they going nuts? Destroying their culture of fans queueing for apple devices at launch day. They should have at least 300 pieces for overnight queueing fans.

If you read this Apple, reconsider this new device launch style.
What is Apple without queues infront of their stores... just another retailer...
Angela Ahrendts is ******* it all up... She destroyed the Apple Watch 1 launch already.

Yah. Glass is always a better option though, rather than a glossy finish metal or plastic. The iPhone 4/4s used to scratch to hell as well, but it always looked better than the Jet Black is gonna after 2 months. Glass holds up better than a glossy 'coating' cause when it gets scratched, there's a transluceny there that sort of accounts for it and makes it less visible.

Not that I'm hoping for this, but there really will be some sort of "scratch-gate" or "blemish-gate" or whatever ridiculous claim with these jet black iPhones...

For only one year I'd like to see a non -gate iPhone release.

To bad they didn't do instore pick up. It was the best and easiest experience picking up my 6 plus on launch day. I waited in a small reserve line for about 30 minutes then was walking out with my phone about 10 minutes after.

You can thank angela for that.
