For only one year I'd like to see a non -gate iPhone release.

You will never see that due to human behavior around this particular product. No matter what version of the phone, there has always been wear and tear because people live on these things 24/7 now.

Apple has an impossible task, make the most beautiful mobile computing devices in the world and then somehow make them almost totally impervious to human nature.

Most people have common sense about having a black as black gets shiny object that is constantly in use in their lives and what to expect from that.

Then there are the "others"......

Read the signature, assuming you can read this, that is if you can read at all.

We have the same phone....but not the same pi$$ poor social decorum, LOL!

I love the look of the Jet Black, I'm waiting an extra 2 weeks to get one, and I never use a case. Whelp, I guess I'm ready for scratches galore. I sure hope I can still turn it in next year through the iPhone upgrade program with all the scratches:p

Tiny text on a website doesn't preclude users from returning items or seeking damages. Items should be fit for purpose and durable.

Seeking damages for what? Lol.

The phone is fit for purpose and durable. Any scratches incurred during day to day use is on the consumer. Great example, car paint/finish. It will scratch and get abrasions from day to day use. Ride through a sand storm, it will be worse. Rub agains the car with keys or metal on your clothes, it will scratch.

What's your point?

Jet Black isn't a work of art. If you're going to treat it that way, best not use it as a mobile device. Lol. People today bitching and moaning about something scratching, knowing full well a shiny, glossy finish will scratch and show those scratches much easier is just mind blowing. People want their cake, eat it too and then return the empty box saying it wasn't tasty enough to get a brand new cake at no charge.

No.

With time zone differences, Apple customers in Australia and New Zealand are always the first to get their new devices when orders begin shipping out.

It's just about 9:00 a.m. in New Zealand, so customers who pre-ordered an iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, or Apple Watch Series 2 are beginning to receive their shipments and have begun sharing photos of their devices on social networks like Instagram and Twitter. Deliveries will begin soon in Australia.

As September 16 hits around the world, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will be available in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, UAE, the UK, US Virgin Islands and the US.

Retail stores in those countries will be opening at 8:00 a.m. local time letting customers pick up reserved devices and purchase new phones via walk-in. Customers who did not pre-order will have a limited selection of iPhones for walk-in purchases, as Apple has said there are no iPhone 7 Plus models and no Jet Black iPhone 7 models available at all.

Customers who planned to wait in line to obtain an iPhone 7 Plus or a Jet Black iPhone 7 should instead order online. Delivery estimates for those devices range into November based on color and configuration.

In the United States, the first iPhone 7 deliveries will begin starting at approximately 8:00 a.m. local time, with the first deliveries occurring on the east coast.

I opted for the Plain Jane 'Gold' which is what I currently have on my 6+. I'm finicky when it comes to the style of case I use, so I prefer the white color face. When I'm out in the wild, I don't see too many iPhones without a case, so the color of the backside seems irrelevant.

To bad they didn't do instore pick up. It was the best and easiest experience picking up my 6 plus on launch day. I waited in a small reserve line for about 30 minutes then was walking out with my phone about 10 minutes after.
How is all of that easier than getting it shipped to your door?

Off topic but: after hearing the grief my brother put up with on the phone with Samsung today about getting his phone fixed, which has a huge line of dead pixels less than a year after he bought it, you'd have to be a bit tragic to even do business with Samsung. He went into a Samsung store to be told they couldn't fix it, that it would take, "months." Best phone support could do was arrange for UPS to pick it up and who knows what from there. Terrible, terrible customer service. It's clear that's not Samsung's business model.

Of course, I teased him a lot about the fact I could walk out of an Apple Store with a brand new iPhone in less than 20 minutes if my phone did the same thing.

Anyway, back to the thread at hand sorry for the short diversion guys!

I think even the Matte Black will be a fingerprint magnet. I don't know what it is, but The Rose Gold really is a nice color. I would consider it. But in any case, mine will be here tomorrow at 11:30 AM.

New Zealand is first Australia is later in the day. I received my iPhone 6s plus last year 2 days before America.

Samsung doesn't just have an exploding phone it also has exploding washing machines which has coursed house fires in New Zealand. These washings machines have been recalled by Samsung but you have to know this as fires are still happening.
