I think even the Matte Black will be a fingerprint magnet. I don't know what it is, but The Rose Gold really is a nice color. I would consider it. But in any case, mine will be here tomorrow at 11:30 AM.
Anyway they are more appealing than the booring colors you ordered, don't blame if can't buy them :D

Off topic but: after hearing the grief my brother put up with on the phone with Samsung today about getting his phone fixed, which has a huge line of dead pixels less than a year after he bought it, you'd have to be a bit tragic to even do business with Samsung. He went into a Samsung store to be told they couldn't fix it, that it would take, "months." Best phone support could do was arrange for UPS to pick it up and who knows what from there. Terrible, terrible customer service. It's clear that's not Samsung's business model.

Of course, I teased him a lot about the fact I could walk out of an Apple Store with a brand new iPhone in less than 20 minutes if my phone did the same thing.

Anyway, back to the thread at hand sorry for the short diversion guys!

Or within months if you have a jet black iPhone.

The iPhone 7 box is fugly. Functional and logical (given the inherent upgrades/features) but nonetheless fugly. lets be creative and call it fugliogical o_O

If this launch is bad... ok, I'm already bracing myself for the iPhone 8 launch which will be mind blowingly crazy. Sure to post the longest wait times in smartphone history

I digress. What I meant to say is I can't wait until I can get a high-tech ceramic clad iPhone for under 1200.00 Lets crank up the presses Cupertino

why exactly do you regret it? just wondering. i ordered a Jet Black 7 myself. i always use a slim case anyway, but it's usually clear.

I agree. I think people are getting worried about nothing. I think the finish will hold up just fine. It will probably only get the teeny tiny ones that the oleophobic coating gets that you can really only get in direct sunlight. Their fine print is only there to cover their butts from whiners.

To bad they didn't do instore pick up. It was the best and easiest experience picking up my 6 plus on launch day. I waited in a small reserve line for about 30 minutes then was walking out with my phone about 10 minutes after.
In store pick up for what? I was able to do in store pick up for tomorrow for an iPhone 7 within a specified time.

That jet black matte black phone looks like it has the potential to be a smudge magnet! Just unboxed and there they are :-/ So far I prefer the glass of the iP4 and plastic of the 3.
The glass was an awesome design.

If you live in UAE, buy your phone elsewhere, their models have FaceTime removed by default. Also, since September 5, 2016 Saudi Arabia has blocked all internet based voice services including FaceTime.

that was beautiful... Amazing design, so much nicer than 6/6s/7

It's also beautiful because it has iOS 6 running on it. Still have mine with iOS 6.1.4. The last rock solid/stable OS with ZERO lag or glitches anywhere (still seeing lag/glitches even on iOS 10), smooth as silk.

What a great time to be alive if we're worried about smudges and micro-scratches on our pocket computers.

I'm with you but it's the fact that you shell out so much for them that you don't want to scratch or damage it in any way. It's like scratching a brand new car to us. Also hurts resale value etc.

Waiiiiita minute... how come the camera bulge looks different? It looks like it has a ring that is not a part of the main shell.

I was telling people this and most said no way. During testing, the "Piano Black" (renamed "Jet Black") showed less fingerprints yet was prone to abrasions while the "Matte Black" showed fingerprints. Someone stated only oily hands would show, but not from our experiences. I simply stated:

1. If you don't mind scratches, get the "Jet Black"
2. If you don't mind fingerprints, get the "Matte Black"
3. If you don't want either, don't get black.

Ironically, Ive loathes cases. If he sees anyone on campus with a case, you better run.

I respect everyone's opinion on design and colors and what looks 'good' or whatever ... to each their own / beauty in the eye .. etc.

However I flat don't understand the fingerprint thing ... yes, a shiny surface will show fingerprints.

So how do you cope with the front of the phone which is also a shiny surface and shows finger-prints and ear or cheek prints etc. To say I'd rather have one color over another because of how well the surface holds up, I get that .. but specifically finger prints ? I presume if you're hyper-concerned about the appearance of your phone, you're probably already wiping the screen off after each use .. so is then wiping the back of also just a deal breaker ?

That's cheap compared to our house prices!

I had a a bit of a play with the 7 Plus at a store on the way to work...nice, but I'm waiting untill I am out of contract next month....

Made the mistake of ordering through BestBuy once my order at Apple.com failed to go through given all the traffic at midnight. BestBuy promised delivery by 9/16 when I placed the order, but now they send an email saying "Unfortunately, there's been a delay in getting you your device. We apologize for the inconvenience, as we know you are excited about your new phone.

Your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus is expected to arrive by Friday, Oct. 7"

Never. ordering. Apple. From. BestBuy. Ever. Again.

With time zone differences, Apple customers in Australia and New Zealand are always the first to get their new devices when orders begin shipping out.

It's just about 9:00 a.m. in New Zealand, so customers who pre-ordered an iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, or Apple Watch Series 2 are beginning to receive their shipments and have begun sharing photos of their devices on social networks like Instagram and Twitter. Deliveries will begin soon in Australia.

As September 16 hits around the world, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will be available in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, UAE, the UK, US Virgin Islands and the US.

Retail stores in those countries will be opening at 8:00 a.m. local time letting customers pick up reserved devices and purchase new phones via walk-in. Customers who did not pre-order will have a limited selection of iPhones for walk-in purchases, as Apple has said there are no iPhone 7 Plus models and no Jet Black iPhone 7 models available at all.

Customers who planned to wait in line to obtain an iPhone 7 Plus or a Jet Black iPhone 7 should instead order online. Delivery estimates for those devices range into November based on color and configuration.

In the United States, the first iPhone 7 deliveries will begin starting at approximately 8:00 a.m. local time, with the first deliveries occurring on the east coast.

Yeah, I ordered a slim, clear TPU case for it as well. I just don't think it's worth the extra wait and I typically go with silver when it comes to my Apple products.

I mean, it's just a phone so another week is hardly going to hurt me in any way, but I just went with jet black out of impulse and, if I had just gone with my usual choice, I could have been unboxing one tomorrow.

....aaaannnnnd jet black scratch gate starts in THREE....TWO......
Ya know I almost ordered a Jet Black one because I thought they might fetch a higher resale value down the road, but Scratchgate plus the fact I'll never see that piano black finish as my phones go straight into a case right out of the box, why even risk it? Matte Black for me.
