I just want to see the YouTube videos of the guys that rush to Australia and doing drop test on perfectly good iPhone 17 Pros

was wondering if it actually has stereo speakers. Evidently it does, I thought both speakers would at bottom of the phone. Nope……..not according to the specs…………..

I also didn't realise how much bigger the 17 Pro is compared to the 15 Pro. I like it though.

I'll be upgrading from a 15 Pro as well!

Does the weight & size difference feel substantial? Been using my 15 Pro daily for 2 years, curious how that transition in terms of difference is gonna be!

I have the iPhone 17 Pro in Silver arriving tomorrow. Upgrading from the iPhone 13 Pro. Hoping it feels like an upgrade after years of disappointment with the new features of iPhones over the last 3-4 years. Almost purchased the Air, but too many compromises.

10am in Sydney Australia and just got the notification that my iPhone 17 Pro Max 2TB was attempted to be delivered to my home. Will need to go to post office later to pick it up. Phoned Vodafone about 5 minutes into the pre-order opening and got to speak to someone maybe 5 minutes later so i'd say i'm in the first batch, clearly.

Apple customers in Australia and New Zealand are starting to receive their iPhone Air, iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max orders, since it is already Friday, September 19 in those two countries.

Orders of the AirPods Pro 3, Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and Apple Watch SE 3 are also arriving.

Apple fans who ordered a new device will soon be sharing photos and first impressions of the new iPhone 17 models on Instagram, Reddit, the MacRumors forums, and other social networks. If you've received one of the new devices, let us know in the comments below and share pictures and your initial thoughts.

There are no Apple retail stores in New Zealand, so customers in Australia are the first to be able to pick up their new devices or make a purchase in an Apple Store. In-store stock in Australia will provide insight into what we can expect at other Apple locations around the world.

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max did sell out during the pre-order period, and online shipping estimates are now into October. We are expecting retail stores to have available supply though, so if you missed pre-ordering, you should be able to get a new iPhone from Apple or from another big box retailer like Target, Walmart, or Best Buy.

After Australia and New Zealand, sales and deliveries of the new iPhone 17 models and the other devices will begin in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and finally, North America. Some Apple Stores worldwide are opening early at 8:00 a.m. local time to allow customers to pick up reserved devices and make walk-in purchases.

Stay tuned to MacRumors, because we'll have hands-on and unboxing videos tomorrow, plus deep dives into the design, cameras, and feature sets of the new devices.

I preordered with ATT last Saturday. All week and until today at 8 PM they said it would ship today for an expected delivery on 09/19 to NYC. I just got an email that my Deep Blue Pro Max would ship in FOUR WEEKS. I ordered that one because it had the shortest wait time. It really wouldn't be a big deal but I have been on my terrible work iPhone SE for the last 3 months because I lost my 16. I really cannot say enough bad things about preordering through ATT right now. If they warned me earlier it would have been okay. Puke.

I feel your pain. I reached out to Apple Support for clarification, but they were not able to provide any substantive information. The rep said that all he could see was that it was processing and asked me to “please be patient,” as if I have any other option! Lol.

I kind of wish it had said it was delivering later at the start so I didn’t get so excited.

I just checked out all the new phones at Apple Sydney. The Air is very compelling, BUT: on the Airs and the Pros, the ceramic on the back of the phones was ALREADY scratching off. This was at 10am on launch day. This is going to be an issue I predict.

Mine arrives on Tuesday (have to be home for delivery so that is a better day for me). Looking forward to reviews - wondering if I am going to need a screen protector and how long Magic John will take to sell one...

I will pick up my lavender 17 today. First time I preordered through an Apple reseller. Normally I order directly from Apple. But I visit the local store nowadays almost weekly just to talk about all things Apple and wanted to start supporting them more, I was expecting much longer delivery time through them so I am very happy.

I pre ordered the pro max as soon as it went live on the 12th September, but i think my order is still being made in China and when it does get here its delivered to me via Australia Post and their 2 camels, so maybe December or January.

UPDATE FOLKS - Just got informed, my 17 Pro Max arrives Monday, 22nd 🕺

Has anyone got an opinion on the air after holding it etc? I ordered the pro and off to collect it this morning, but think I might change if possible. I’m on the upgrade programme so it’s only for a year. It might feel like a change after three or four steady years of incremental-better-but-sameish.

It really did feel thin, but you’d want to use it caseless or maybe with the bumper to really notice.
