Thank you very much for sharing. I love the design of this phone which is why I ordered it. My usage will be similar to yours which is fine for my needs. Reminds me a little of the XS Max which I still use for a secondary phone and is in pristine condition. I even put a new battery in it recently. I have been awaiting a new design ever since I purchased the 14 Pro which I have loathed from the start and will use as a bookend. I still have the 3gs which I lovingly look at every once in awhile . Design has always been a priority and the Air will fit this desire. Mine are on the UPS truck already and will be delivered earlier this morning than anticipated. (Ordered a blue and white for comparison but most likely keep the cloud white) I admit this is the first time since the XS Max I've actually been excited to purchase another phone. Enjoy your phone. Lovely photo.
I’ve always been a plus/pro max person. But like you, I found the Air design change extremely compelling. Even so, if the Air didn’t get the RAM and Pro CPU bump, I would have passed on it. As is I think I can live with the battery and camera compromises.

Went to a store to see all the new devices. Have ordered my orange 17 Pro Max from Apple.com and will be here only by October. The Orange is very nice.

I went to the Apple Store in Tokyo to get a feel from the new devices. I have the iPhone 16 Pro in natural titanium, but when I picked up the 17 Pro in silver I literally said out loud “wowwww this is heavy… and thick”. Also the back looks really bad in comparison to the 16 Pro in my opinion. The blue at least looks decent.

The Air was really nice, but not as thin and light as I was expecting after all these reviews.
time for gym to do some more curl bar to pump your biceps ! LOL Just kidding. will be pick up mine today 17PM Deep blue 😊

Thats the whole point. Cheap but higher profits.
well try not look at that way. If iPhone work so well then you will enjoy it what you need. I'm sure it will be fine once anyone use few weeks they get use to it.
Apple change look for away to make it cooler believe this best option to try it out. there few report it cooler that is show it is working. maybe next iPhone with stainless steel or titanium will have better improving cooling ?

6 hours in and I’m still amazed at how thin and light it feels. The single camera is absolutely fine for my needs (I use a Nikon Z6II for proper photos) and the speaker is surprisingly good, which was my main worry. I only use the speaker for FaceTime calls and the odd YouTube video so my standards might be lower than most, but it’s decently loud and clear. Zero regrets going for the Air.
Which color is that? I ordered the Sky Blue but that looks like it might be the black? I was worried the black wouldn’t look good on the Air but if that’s it in your picture it’s stunning.

It’s the Sky Blue! I should have taken some shots of the rear.

Looks like the AirPod pro 3 is the bottleneck this year.
Getting the phone and the watch today but the air pods still not received a notification, meant to pick them up today along with the watch.
Made a coo when ordering the phone and selected delivery rather than pick up, Apple support said unable to change that was last Saturday, so hoping my stars align.
I know stupid replying to myself but because it’s getting engraved was not ready, just got a message now available to pick up, but back up the road:(
Really busy in Glasgow, whilst waiting for my watch talking to one of the staff, not many going for the air🤷🏼‍♂️

After seeing more in-hand pics, I'd personally rank this year's phones like this, purely in terms of aesthetics:

1. iPhone 17
2. iPhone 17 Air
3. iPhone 17 Pro/Max

I think the Pro/Max are the ugliest phone Apple has ever come out with. That said, if I was upgrading this year it would be a 17 Pro for the features, but I wouldn't feel even the slightest twinge of guilt about immediately slapping a case on it to cover up that giant forehead and the glass on the back which looks like a sticker applied to the case.

Just my personal opinions, beauty is subjective, not trying to harsh anybody's buzz and I hope everybody enjoys their new phones, whichever one you chose!
