Some of these pics are in my article here: https://www.provideocoalition.com/review-iphone-17-pro-max/
Indeed very tempting upgrade if only for the battery life on my end.I'll be upgrading from a 15 Pro as well!
Does the weight & size difference feel substantial? Been using my 15 Pro daily for 2 years, curious how that transition in terms of difference is gonna be!
the 17s are legit ugly and cheaper looking its so bizarreI went to the Apple Store in Tokyo to get a feel from the new devices. I have the iPhone 16 Pro in natural titanium, but when I picked up the 17 Pro in silver I literally said out loud “wowwww this is heavy… and thick”. Also the back looks really bad in comparison to the 16 Pro in my opinion. The blue at least looks decent.
The Air was really nice, but not as thin and light as I was expecting after all these reviews.
That’s exceptionally rude behavior to exhibit in a shop in Tokyo.I went to the Apple Store in Tokyo to get a feel from the new devices. So for you 7 extra grams feels heavier but 35g difference the Air doesn’t feel as light as you expected…just seems you try to find excuses to stay with your 16 p thats allI went to the Apple Store in Tokyo to get a feel from the new devices. I just don’t like the look of what seems is the sticker on the back of that silver 17 pro
Has anyone got an opinion on the air after holding it etc? I ordered the pro and off to collect it this morning, but think I might change if possible. I’m on the upgrade programme so it’s only for a year. It might feel like a change after three or four steady years of incremental-better-but-sameish.

6 hours in and I’m still amazed at how thin and light it feels. The single camera is absolutely fine for my needs (I use a Nikon Z6II for proper photos) and the speaker is surprisingly good, which was my main worry. I only use the speaker for FaceTime calls and the odd YouTube video so my standards might be lower than most, but it’s decently loud and clear. Zero regrets going for the Air.
Thats the whole point. Cheap but higher profits.the 17s are legit ugly and cheaper looking its so bizarre
It was in a very crowded Apple Store, just standing at the demo tables, but most importantly…. it was in Dutch 😂 And I’ve been to Japan more than enough to understand the cultural expectations. That’s exceptionally rude behavior to exhibit in a shop in Tokyo.
It’s OK if you feel different about it, I’m just sharing how it was for me. Also my wife said the exact same thing, so I guess we are both looking for excuses 😉So for you 7 extra grams feels heavier but 35g difference the Air doesn’t feel as light as you expected…just seems you try to find excuses to stay with your 16 p thats all

No body wants a ring in full view.Perfectly understandable. I don’t mind it, and think this is actually better, with the MagSafe ring on the inside, as opposed to the ring in full view.
Much better than my 14PM with 86% battery health for sure. In the last ~3 hours of near constant use after finally finishing setting everything up I’ve dropped from 90% to 74%.How was the battery life after those 6 hours?
Thank you very much for sharing. I love the design of this phone which is why I ordered it. My usage will be similar to yours which is fine for my needs. Reminds me a little of the XS Max which I still use for a secondary phone and is in pristine condition. I even put a new battery in it recently. I have been awaiting a new design ever since I purchased the 14 Pro which I have loathed from the start and will use as a bookend. I still have the 3gs which I lovingly look at every once in awhile . Design has always been a priority and the Air will fit this desire. Mine are on the UPS truck already and will be delivered earlier this morning than anticipated. (Ordered a blue and white for comparison but most likely keep the cloud white) I admit this is the first time since the XS Max I've actually been excited to purchase another phone. Enjoy your phone. Lovely photo.View attachment 2552345

Awesome, not long to wait for you then! You’ll love it I’m sure. Totally the same for me with the excitement factor. This genuinely feels like something different and new, just like when they unveiled the X. In my view this is the best iPhone that Apple has released, at least in my definition of best (won’t be everyone’s).Thank you very much for sharing. Out of curiosity, why do you loathe the 14 Pro?Thank you very much for sharing. I love the design of this phone which is why I ordered it. Too heavy, design was nothing extraordinary for me, and I stress me personally. Phone is running well on IOS 26, no glitches. I am a female user but I’ve heard the same from male friends.Out of curiosity, why do you loathe the 14 Pro?
