First iPhone X Orders Begin Shipping Out to Customers

I just got into UPS chat online - and connected to International Shipping representative. The cargo plane landed at 128 AM EDT in Louisville, KY. Requeued and wait time 23 minutes. Took a while but finally got connected.

Very lengthy pause as international agent was checking information. I will fill in the rest if I actually find out anything.

This would make sense according to the UPS App cuz the app says tentative. Something seems fishy but hey, if it’s in my hands Friday before end of day. I won’t complain much. But if there is no updates by tomorrow afternoon. I’ll be driving to the UPS warehouse to pick up my package on Friday. Haha. But I guess we can’t say much because, we all got free shipping and there are others who have to wait weeks and weeks before getting to our point in delivery status.

Well that sounds about right. But usually it clears customs in Anchorage rather than Louisville (or at least I think). Either way, I am sure it'll arrive by Nov. 3rd. It's gotten there early enough that I'm not worried. Last year I was slated to receive my iPhone 7 Plus on launch day, but it was delayed by 1 day due to a Super Typhoon that hit Taiwan. All the other pallets on other planes flew over the typhoon, but the pilot that had our iPhones played it safe and landed in Taiwan instead of going through to Japan from Hong Kong. They had to wait out the typhoon so that delayed the phone getting to Louisville, KY and just missed customs. I had changed my delivery to hold for pick-up at the UPS Customer Center as opposed to delivery so couldn't get it until Monday morning while others who were on the same plane got it on Saturday instead of the Friday delivery. But overall I am happy to receive it on launch day since when I ordered through Apple the T-Mobile 256GB Silver at 12:02 PDT, I was promised a delivery of Nov. 10-17th. So this is way better. However, that won't stop me from tracking it via UPS and Flightaware, lol.

Alright I’m seeing here that your order is already being moved closer to you. This order was in-fact on a hold until the release date. We are moving thousands of these iPhone X orders and are still updating all our tracking on these orders. From what I’ve seen in the past they usually update that tracking the day before the new release.

All of those shipments have embargo date. They hold until they are allowed to sort and deliver date per Apple to destination. No need to worry!

Yea I just called UPS and they said they “assured” me my IPX would be at my sorting facility by tomorrow night. In turn, I chose to pick up my package on Friday morning at 9am instead of waiting since I live almost 2 hours from the facility but work near it. I always see UPS trucks showing late in the afternoon around the area for delivers. I’ll just take off work and pick it up and return to work.

Not much help but, just FYI - when I called Tuesday morning to UPS regarding my iPhone still being in China and being scanned “departure” and 15 minutes later being scanned “arrival” at the same location.... they told me THE EXACT same thing. Almost word for word.

Well that sounds about right. But usually it clears customs in Anchorage rather than Louisville (or at least I think).

Customs clearance is done while shipments are en route. They don't stop and wait while it's done. Worst case, if there's a delay or clearance issue, it will continue to Louisville and simply get locked up in a "bonded" cage.

I have air shipments from Europe that ship out and arrive the following day. By 3pm my time (in the US), FedEx is clearing the shipment while the plane is in the air.

The thing that bothers me most is being lied to - this was not a customs hold, it was an Apple hold. Why can they not just tell their customers that up front? I am done worrying about it at this point.

It has now been over fourteen hours since NCR628 landed in Louisville from Anchorage. No reflection of my shipment being there - nothing since Anchorage. I thought for sure it would leave Louisville, KY today but no signs of it so far at least according to any tracking info from UPS or the lack thereof from Apple.

Take some deep breaths. This is the way it happens every year. Or you could file a complaint with the SPCTIX, they would in turn call for a Congressional Investigation with hearings and charges before the World Court.

What if...get this...the phones have left Kentucky and are on their way to your state and the order status will update once it gets scanned in their. I have a feeling that the devices are en route to everyone’s respective state and the shipping will update LATE tonight or sometime tomorrow.

we just moved and ups has been arriving at the new house at nearly 9 pm this week. I changed that delivery to pickup at the distribution center real quick like. Friday would have been horrible waiting all day

Still no "Departure" scan from AK. Looks like there's a few more UPS flights from ANC to Louisville a little later. Not sure why they'd move my precious to a different flight though. Or they forgot to scan it.
