Hmmm, well being that the MacMini doesn’t have a battery I assume it will last forever...What I would hope for is that some MacMini owner runs GeekBench, but not once, but ten times in a row - to see if the Mac gets hot and has to slow down.
And then tell us how long the battery lasts when you do that![]()
all macs have a expiry date now like meat .Hmmm, well being that the MacMini doesn’t have a battery I assume it will last forever...
A sled dog ate your mac?Ughh mine was slated for delivery today but somehow got lost in anchorage...
Just because you ordered immediately after the event does not mean you were quicker than hundreds, maybe even thousands of othersOrdered the base model MBA immediately after the event (I'm in US). The order page still looks like this... Wonder what criteria Apple used to discriminate some customers against other "lucky" guys.![]()

There's more to it than just when you ordered it. You have to consider that there were hundreds/thousands of others ordering around the same time, and when data is multiplied over many servers around the world, exact order is not always guaranteed. This wouldn't be a discrimination issue, but a data distribution one.Ordered the base model MBA immediately after the event (I'm in US). The order page still looks like this... I really enjoy the Touchbar. Use it everyday. Could be better used by Apple and other developers? For sure. But I believe it is nice to have.Dawn of a new era. Very exciting. And after years of neglict, it’s nice to see Apple taking the Mac seriously again. (The tell has been it’s the only product they have to say how much they love it, how they really, really love it, every single time it’s mentioned in a keynote.
Now please dump the Touchbar. It was a bad idea at conception, and has not gotten better. Innovators learn from their errors, so should Apple.
Me too. I especially like having much finer control over volume and brightness via the sliders. Much better than the discrete steps of dedicated buttons. Also, if you give presentations having the tiny slide preview turns out to be pretty useful.I really enjoy the Touchbar. Use it everyday. Could be better used by Apple and other developers? For sure. embargo lifts tomorrow.Still no reviews though?
Sled dogs are carnivores, not metalvores.A sled dog ate your mac?
My thoughts as well.
When Apple moved to Intel people were excited to get the Core Duo only to see it replaced with the Core2Duo 5 months later with faster speeds and higher RAM.
Can't you use parallels or VMWare fusion? They are working on an ARM version now.Even if we can not use the M1 Macs for our work anymore (we need Windows X86 comaptibility) - I will test it and use it at home.
ARM version of VM isn't going to help run x86. You'll be able to virtualize other ARM systems. x86 hardware would need to be emulated, which is possible (and coming), but would be a pretty big performance hit. Can't you use parallels or VMWare fusion? They are working on an ARM version now.
So they are using different shippers. Mine is via UPS. Originally, it was scheduled for delivery today, but later changed to tomorrow. It went to Anchorage first to clear the customs, then transferred to Louisville, KY for an import scan. Left Louisville at 4 PMish today local time. Let’s hope that I’ll receive it tomorrow then.Mine stated that it was to arrive Friday to next Friday and BOOM a quick update today and it arrives TOMORROW. 12:00pm from Fedex for my new Air 512-8. I think ill take tomorrow off.... yahoo.
