I just want to see an ifixit teardown of the new MagSafe so we can learn what was wrong with the old MagSafe.
Probably everything. Magsafe uses a form of the USB-PD protocol. The new one uses the latest version, supports higher voltages, and much higher total wattage. Probably easier to redesign the connector then try to make it compatible with a connector that has not been used in a shipping laptop for the last 6 years.

The fullscreen behavior on the new MBP is much nicer than how Apple was handling it before!

I always hated when my cursor got too close to the top of the screen it would constantly shift up and down to show the menubar.

What does the menu bar do when you change the resolution of the screen? Does it remain the same size or does the text scale?

Still waiting on my delivery. I have 22 days :(

It’s a work of art!

Not sure when Apple went from normal to massive trackpad, I find it ridiculous. No need for it to be so close to the front of the laptop, that's my main problem with it, I want somewhere for my palm to rest.
The trackpad grew a to during the 2016 redesign. I heard that it was a little smaller this time.

I like how the notch goes away with a black menu bar.

Is that all it takes to remove the notch when using Safari? If so then I can eliminate the notch as a potential problem. I don't like dark mode though, is that what you need to turn on?

Congratulations and thanx for the pics. The new chassis design is utterly ugly and way out of all Apple products line.
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". I quite like it!

It reminds me of my first Macbook (2007 MBP15) which I really enjoyed despite it having some terrible reliability problems (failed dGPU, failed keyboard/trackpad, swollen battery).

Amazing new features like MagSafe, SD Card Reader and HDMI Port. Next year's model has something called an "Optical Drive" included. You stick a shiny disc into it and it writes data to it. Amazing!!!!

Cancelled my online order this morning and ordered my base 14 again for pickup. Picked it up at lunch time, it's very nice!
