Bad enough there are apple fanboys on this site, now Verizonites are comingWhen I saw it, it made me smile. Thinking, "Wow, I'm finally going to have an iPhone, the best smartphone, on the best network."
Typical Verizon ads- an Apple ad would show the product in use.
I guess from an ad standpoint it's very good... hit all the right buttons.
I guess the content just strikes me as sort of sad.
Why is carrier choice sad?
Its a good ad.
Why would at&t have needed to advertise the iPhone before now?
And even forgetting Verizon customers for a moment, just think of what this ad accomplishes for Apple: it establishes that millions of people have been waiting for the iPhone, which implies that Apple is the super-premium brand, high above all other Verizon brands including Android and RIM, and well worth waiting for.
It's not that they needed to do it they just weren't allowed. I remember reading an article that part of the deal between Apple and AT&T was that Apple would handle the advertising.
It's not the carrier choice... I guess just the concept of people's lives being on hold for 4 years for the chance to have this cell phone.
yup, absolutely. So much so that I'd be a little pissed if I were another handset maker on Verizon.
And NOW, THE MOMENT YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR... unless of course you live in a country where phones aren't locked, and you've been given the choice of switching carriers with your iPhone all along.
Sometimes the US is just... sad.
Then the voiceover: "To our millions of customers who never stopped believing this day would come: Thank you."... "iPhone 4, Verizon, It Begins, 2.10.11, Rule the Air."
Boy, how'd you like to be a Blackberry, Android, or Windows phone manufacturer right now? That's gotta make you feel great to see that on their main page.
Oh! Oh!
Tell us the story about how we pay for incoming text messages too. I love hearing that one.
Also, notice how this ad is seemingly aimed at their current customers? An interesting approach that makes total sense. I suspect they really will sell mostly to current customers for the first few months. If someone really really wanted an iPhone before now and didn't love Verizon they probably already have one.

Awwww, sorry buddy, did I touch a nerve?
