Nice ad. But, a tad overdramatic, no?

It's still cell service, it's going to be shady in places, and clear in others. People are in for a rude awakening when they continue to drop calls on Verizon. As a former user, the overall experience isn't that much different. And the customer service SUCKS.

If the wait has been so excruciating, couldn't Verizon customers have changed to AT&T? Or do telephone companies own your soul over there?

i hate verizon and I really liked the ad. It made me smile. maybe its cause Ive been following all this hype for years so the ad just kind of tops it all off. I wouldnt switch to verizon for free but the ad was good.

WOW, that exactly describes how us verizon customers feel! just before i saw this video, I was checking the amount of hours left to feb. 10

This is really an excellent teaser commercial. I got excited for it, and I'm not with Verizon, and don't plan on being.

… It's still cell service, it's going to be shady in places, and clear in others. …

in the latest Diggnation podcast they check each others service signal in a studio with no windows in San Francisco (known for bad signals on AT&T) and AT&T had no service while Verizon had 4/5 bars.

youre right about being clear in other places, but i dont think people will get widespread call dropages with Verizon like AT&T in a location like that. where AT&T has clear coverage im sure Verizon would as well.

Clocks...

Funny how they used clocks in the commercial. Didn't the iPhone have an issue with the clock which made people, including myself, late to work.

I am very excited though for the launch of the Verizon iPhone 4.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

Lol at Magic Mouse. Verizon is showing that it LOVES Apple and it's iPhone.

But this commercial just doesnt really say anything. I have an iphone on ATT and this commercial did not make me think twice about my network. My mom on wants a smartphone but this commercial doesnt make it seem like she should get an iphone either.

Its a nothing ad.

Well 2 things happened here.

1. You were not the intended audience for the Ad
2. You felt left out lol
:D

I liked it, and I don’t even live in the same country!

Typical Verizon ads- an Apple ad would show the product in use. This is just flashy and hype.

Oh well, most people will grasp the significance.

Why would they show the phone in use when the Ad is focused on people who are waiting for it to come to the network. Or in other words.... they already know how it works.

well sure we could switch to at&t, but then why not just buy an ipod touch,
at&t does not have service everywhere.... neither does verizon thats why we have been waiting for choice.

I agree. It's similar to the entire discussion of why Verizon was allowed to make the announcement for the iPhone 4 on their network. It's not a completely new product. Just a slightly revised version of a product that has already been released. Everyone has seen an iPhone 4 by now. This is to create excitement for the product being released on Verizon.

i guess ill be the one to say it - that was retarded.

I am an apple fan. Not an ATT nor Verizon fan. In my opinion they are all sub par in the US.

But this commercial just doesnt really say anything. I have an iphone on ATT and this commercial did not make me think twice about my network. My mom on wants a smartphone but this commercial doesnt make it seem like she should get an iphone either.

this ad wasn't targeting AT&T users....but existing Verizon users saying the wait is over.

i loved this ad. as a marketer, im going to say this is one of the better ads ive seen in a while. it appeals to verizon customers and makes them feel appreciated for waiting so long.

good work.

(imagine AT&T doing this if they roll out the LTE network 2 years late)

I like this ad. It has Apple's name all over it --- that is if you know what I mean.

Nice ad... but Verizon might not live up to the iPhone experience of data and voice at the same time that makes the iPhone on ATT so nice....

BTW I rated this as positive.....

So tell me how you are rewarding me for waiting.

Tell me as a Verizon customer why I should go with Verizon despite the fact that I cant use the internet while on the phone. Tell me something.

Advertisements are a form of communication suppose to persuade an audience.

So this was intended for customers who were waiting for a VZW iPhone. So they didnt need any persuasion. So Verizon just spent a bunch of money on fluff.

It reminds me of when ATT was bashing Verizon in their commercials and Verizon bashing ATT. Stop wasting your money on this and just make YOUR network better - the better network will speak for itself.

Actually you'd be surprised at how many people didn't know iPhone was coming to Verizon. And as someone on a family plan with 5 people on it, 2 of which are grandparents making it impossible for me to move; I loved this commercial. It was slightly suspenseful in the way that i can't believe this is real way. It doesn't have to say much to be effective. I'm ready. They even say thank you! As stated before this is not there make the switch commercial which they most definitely will make, but they have to be tactful now they can't bash the phone it's on the network!

Let it go...if this commercial is geared towards existing subscribers, your statement won't matter. We already know we can't do data and voice at the same time.

Great ad.

I really liked Verizon's iPad ad, too.

Also, notice how this ad is seemingly aimed at their current customers? An interesting approach that makes total sense. I suspect they really will sell mostly to current customers for the first few months. If someone really really wanted an iPhone before now and didn't love Verizon they probably already have one.

It's right out of Apple's own production style. It is slick.

P.S. I'm still moving to AT&T come June.

I love how people can be so fascinated with commercials that show absolutely nothing about what they are offering... Looked like a clock commercial to me.

Apple's commercials focus on the PRODUCT, which is very rare in commercials these days. Most commercials now are just some short 30 second story with a brand trademark attached to it...
