What type of jelly are we looking at? Strawberry or grape? :p

All kidding aside, I don't think the camera aspects of the iphone
are that interesting compared to its other features.

Can we just stop making fun of how someone looks? I am sure all of you that comment on the looks, you all are looking like a movie star, don't you? Who the heck cares? All people have their own identity and there is no reason to poke fun of someone, because you don't agree. This was about the first picture available on the iPhone, but it became about the looks of someone? What a joke.... (OK, I am done ranting)

My response to this story.....

So what?

Is this even news or a rumour. Must be a real slow news day or something.

I ran a tool called ExifTool, and found more information from the iPhone photos which do seem to corroborate the claim that they were taken with an iPhone (note the following in bold). However, the one thing that may suggest an edit is that the modify date is 8 days after the creation date (in italics). However, it's worth noting that the Primary Platform, Device Manufacturer, Profile Creator, and Profile Copyright EXIF tags are NOT editable by ExifTool.

Apple Computer Inc?!

Wow, so quickly do people forget that Apple is currently not delving into the market for point-and-shoot consumer level digital cameras.

Frankly I couldn't care less about the overall image quality of the iPhone's camera, so long as it can take adequate to reasonably vivid shots of things I'd sooner just *relegate* to a camera phone rather than capture in a superior dedicated device. As long as it can capture enough details and color with good enough resolution....are we really going to sit here and nitpick and compare different phones? If the pictures it actually takes are grainy (like my Ericsson T610's horrible camera) then I can see the complaints. But c'mon.....it's a friggin phone, that does a great deal more things than take pictures.

this is by far the dumbest thread I have ever seen.. pure speculation.. total waste of time..

I'ts not pure speculation.

An Apple Product Mananger who specifically works on the iPhone posted a photo that was EXIF tagged with "Apple iPhone". The photos were removed shortly after discovery.

Make up some rumors already so we don't have to see this man-chick's mug anymore! :D

Forgot to add: The photo quality is excellent. Looks better than the 5mp Nokia N95 I saw reviewed. Very low noise and sharp. Nice.

Uh, why is this thread still at the top of the list, it's been almost a full day?

Are they torturing us or something?

I think someone has a deranged sense of humor.

You guys are missing the point. This story isnt about the "quality" of the iPhone's built-in camera. Its just that the images were CREATED using the iPhone. If these are legit, its the first thing we've seen from iPhone ever, whether it be an application, wallpaper, ringtones, whatever.

Actually, one San Fransisco Starbucks employee received a prank call from Steve Jobs. That person has "seen" something from the iPhone.

Then there was that report a couple months ago about Steve being at a kids' soccer game leaning against a chain-link fence and talking on his iPhone. The crook who snapped the photo has "seen" something from the iPhone.

This is just the first direct confirmation of iPhones being out in the wild.

Alright, can we move on to some other rumor? I'm getting indigestion every time I look at that dude, and those hunks of beef are positively nauseating!

Anyone else notice the cat hair on his sweatshirt?
Maybe he was working on Leopard before being pulled over to help with the iPhone. :p

OK. Sorry. Guess I am that bored...

Some Vegans might find that pic gross..As I do.

That's good. Other people most likely won't find it gross. No need to make a big deal about a picture. That last point goes for the rest of you as well.

Which is exactly when this thread should have been removed from the server.

It's obvious the person does not wish to become a center of attention among a bunch of losers like us here. And has it even occurred to you that he/she may indeed lose their job over this? What glory is there in that for MR!? Yes, the person was foolish to post these pictures in the first place, but I would expect MR editors to be a little wiser about the possible consequences.

And? I might find you gross, but who cares?
BTW I eat whale meat... It tastes delicious! Uhm!
I like carrots too... I just thought it was in your interest, as you informed me about your eating habits.
All the best,
-Mars

I'm Rick James, bitch

Couldn't be helped, sorry.

As for the discussion about a person at Apple being fired over thses pics, the only way I could see that happening is because they don't exactly show the iPhone's camera abilities at their best, as I am sure Apple would like to do.

excellent.

Also Peace, you'd hate to see my parents freezer right now. Why you ask, I'll tell you: 150lbs in Ground Beef, Roasts and Stakes. MMMM BEEF!!!!

I only do this to make a point, no one asked you about your eating habits, no one cares about your eating habits. That simple.

And yet... somehow... this thread has devolved into almost total stupidity.
