I was hoping for flat edge ….

.
It was going to be flat, apple has issues and at the last minute had to revert to the old design. The only way they could get the display to fit was to make the glass thicker.. Opposite to every other display they have ever had. The "better protection" statement is just an excuse.. you cant just make the glass thicker without some reason.. a better reason that we had to do it as its really last years design..

This years apple watch is a giant screw up.. I wouldn't buy it will all the compromises they had to do to even get it to market..

The flat sided design that was suppose to be released, will now be next years watch.

And how sure are you that the flat design will be out next year? For all we know, the flat design was just a rumour

There’s little chance that’s how it went down. Apple plans designs 2 years ahead. They don’t just revert designs at the last minute in mass production. It would’ve been pushed out at least another 6 months to a year.

Why bring out the same watch over 2 years.. with the only change a screen that is one big compromise.. This type of thing happens all the time.. Especially with the component shortages we are having..
you wait.. it will come out one day..

Currently, 1 in 10 iPhone users are estimated to be using an Apple Watch. This year's Apple Watch sports a larger display in the same form factor. I think it will be a nice offering for many people looking to get their first Apple Watch, which is what Apple is going for.

I really don't see what aspect of it has been compromised. The flat design of the rumoured redesign makes zero sense for a product that is meant to be worn on the wrist. Apple even hinted as much during that keynote, and I think the rumour mill simply got it wrong this time round.

I have a few watches that have flat or angular sides.. actually this type of design is the most common design of watches. No one seems to have any issues with this. There are very few rounded designs.. Apple, a couple other copy cat designs.

Time will tell.. probably come out in Tims book when he moves on or retires.

the Trypophobia is strong with this watch

Whoever pointed out earlier about the curved display edges reflecting light and making it hard to read was spot on. That’s gonna definitely need to be addressed cuz it’s gonna get super annoying.
That's why curved screen phones never made sense. Tons of glare in the left and right side.

Having a beautiful ss graphite six i'll pass thx

This looks a bit of a non event imo , when they get a blood pressure monitor in I'll definitely be interested

The larger screen does look good, but very happy with my SE. I would however buy the fitness oriented “Explorer Edition” if the rumours are true for next year.

Crazy…looks just like every other watch made. Such a courageous move by Timmy
I know, right? Who would’ve thought Tim Cook was behind the most popular smart watch ever to exist and has grown immensely every year in terms of projected sales, let alone the health features that is leading the future of a device that probably has more potential than the iPhone does. Just mind blowing how that watch ‘that looks like every other watch’ made has shattered records.

I do, I like to stamp out cancerous mindsets quickly before they spread their crap ideals to more impressionable minds same as with "gotcha" posters.
Ahh. It must be this post that you’re referring that you posted. I had to backtrack a bit, but I found it for you.

I wear my "girly" bands because mostly they're nice looking. A small piece of me hopes that someone like you will have the audacity to approach me with such an infantile mindset, for some proper mentoring. Real "men" don't worry about what others think of their outfit, that's what a child would do.

There’s much I like about my aging 4 — Auto sleep, the highly accurate step counter, heart rate monitoring. But God, I hate the battery life. The new one? Meh. No increase. Mine’s 3 years old and barely lasts 10 hours now. Do it again, or switch, that’s my question.
Or why don’t just get a new battery?

Amid rumors that the Apple Watch Series 7 could go on sale in just a matter of weeks, new images shared with MacRumors allegedly show the new Apple Watch in the wild, giving us our first real-world look at Apple's latest watch.

apple-watch-series-7-hands-on.jpg

The images were initially posted on a Facebook group for Apple Watch enthusiasts, but it has been taken down since its posting. The poster of the photos claimed that they are working for a carrier who was testing the Series 7 before it officially goes on sale "later this fall."

We've so far only seen the Series 7 in Apple's marketing and promotional materials, and the company has yet to announce a date for when it will be available for purchase. The images shared today offer us our first hands-on look at the Series 7 with its larger and more expansive display. Despite rumors, the Series 7 does not feature flat-edges but instead "more rounded and softer corners," which allows the display to curve slightly over the sides.

The larger display is one of just a few design changes for the Series 7 compared to the previous generation. The Series 7 features an improved IP6X rating for dust and water resistance but internally maintains the same CPU as the Apple Watch Series 6.

While there certainly could be more internal changes for the Series 7, we'll have to wait until we get our hands on the watch itself to learn about them. For a full rundown of everything we know, be sure to check out our comprehensive roundup.

Is there any hope to see a black aluminium Apple Watch 7? Maybe a 7-Series-based Black Unity or the Nike+ Edition?

I think Apple needs to pause it’s hardware development for a year or 2 and start pumping some more dollars into software.

iOS hasn’t really changed much since 7. It’s still a small-screened OS stretched over a big screen. This so why we still have reachability as a sticking plaster. It needs redesign info from the ground up for 6” screens and one-handed use.

WatchOS does the job but the app menu is a mess. The A-Z is cumbersome and the flower arrangement unweidldy. This needs a bit of a redesign too.

iPadOS is still iOS pretending to be a desktop. Why not just rebuild it for the way users actually interact with the device? AND ADD IN MULTI USER ACCOUNTS.

TVOS hasn’t gone anywhere for a while and I guess it’s a hard place to innovate. But then the menu on my Xbox is lightning quick and never gets in the way. Something more akin to that might be preferential. I’d also like to see more made of Apple Arcade with a box sold with a controller.

The problem is the UI design team is currently being lead by ID team as well. I am convinced ID and UI are fundamentally different paradigm and requires different set of knowledge and skills.

The watch doesn’t need yearly updates anymore, they could probably sell a revised one every two years and get more positive reviews.
